#curvesarethenewskinny #curvesareheretostay

Dear Diary,

I am so fed up with the way America thinks I need to look. I do love that it is finally being made known that women don't have to be a size 2 to be beautiful, but I worry for the sake of teenage girls who see these stick figures walking down the run way or in the magazines and think they must look like that to be beautiful. Look at Kim Kardashian, look at Nicki Minaj, look at Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea. Absolutely beautiful women who all have curves. Who all take the time to work out and eat healthy but not dwell on being so skinny. It is a disease to want to be like that. I mean I don't want to look like this.
That is so unhealthy. Ok, so yeah, maybe I wont ever get to walk the catwalk in Milan or get to go back stage and meet a whole bunch of celebrities at New York Fashion week but when I live to the age of 115 and the girl with the eating disorder lives to the age of 40, I think I will be ok with that. Women shouldn't have to be forced to look like that to be able to do something they love. There are a few Victoria Secret models who actually care more about the way they look than the skinny models. Take Adriana Lima for instance. One of the most beautiful women in the world but instead of being a stick figure, she actually has a body. She has curves and lines and doesn't let media change her.
There is also another VS model I love and that is Doutzen Kroes and even though what she looks like in real life and how they make her on paper is different, I still love that she promotes a healthy life style. I found a picture of her photo shopped by VS
and what she actually looks like

She is beautiful and natural, the way a women should look. That is to say I am not one to go without makeup or dress in sweats everyday. I do still love to fix myself and look good but I do it for myself and my husband, not social media. Not hoping a modeling scout is walking by and just has to have me. I mean if that happened that would be cool, but I am 5'5, 135lbs so the likeliness of that happing is not likely.
Another thing that really pisses me off, is the fact that plus size women, start at a size 10. I'm sorry, Marilyn Monroe was a size 10 and how gorgeous was she!!!!! A size 10 is healthy, not plus size. And what is plus sized anyways...why cant they just be a size. Why must we segregate them into being plus. Why can't they be called extra beauty models or you can actually hold on to me at night models?

Dove did this campaign where they brought in real women, not models to promote their line. And I loved it. Seeing actual women on the TV than a paid supermodel. Actually being able to relate to body issues than think I am not perfect and why don't I look like that.

Now please don't get me wrong, I am not here to promote eating like shit and expecting to look good. I am simply saying that when we as girls look up to something, it should be something worth looking up too. Not something that is going to hurt us. Demi Lovato is a great example. She use to have an eating disorder, got down to 88lbs at 17 years old, checked herself into rehab and has never looked better. I would want my daughter to take Demi's experience and learn from that. Learn what not to do and how gorgeous Demi looks today.
Another thing that bothers me so much is photo shop. Drives me crazy. How they can take someone and completely change them just to make them look "perfect". Everyone has flaws...why cant we promote imperfections and loving ourselves for who we are.

I love Ellen. I love her for so many reasons but she talked about this one day on her show last year. Target did an ad with a young lady in a swimsuit. They photo shopped so bad, that she looked fake. The made her arms longer and cut a huge section out where her whoo-ha should be. She went on to interview the girl (who came out wearing plastic arms, it was awesome) and this girl inspired my girl Meghan Trainor to write "All About that Bass".

Sorry if it seems I am carrying on and on but it really bothers me that girls have to feel this way. I actually use to suffer from anorexia myself. Back in junior high, I would eat very little and run a lot. I got down to an incredibly small weight, to the point where a few teachers noticed it. I had stomach issues (had them my whole life, didn't know it was Gluten) that made me go on this diet of chicken and salad and water. So when I would eat, it was that. I got boobs early in life as well and they were embarrassing. So I did everything I could to make them go away. Then I hit high school and realized that the way I was living and what I was doing was not healthy nor the way to go. Plus, I realized boobs got you attention so I stopped hiding myself in the corner. I was extremely shy so blending into the wall was easier for me. I still struggle with it today. Luckily I married a man who likes to be the center of attention and knows when I get uncomfortable and will draw the attention on himself. And I luckily have a man who loves curves. Every women should find a man that loves their body for what is it. Exercise and eating healthy is a need in order to maintain a healthy body and mind. But eating the occasional burger and fries or splurging on pizza or going out with friends and having a few cocktails is why we eat healthy and workout, so we can have fun like that. Food doesn't have to be the enemy, photo shop and people who require girls to look like a pencil should be the enemy.
Rant over! Thanks Diary

Well if life is like a box of chocolates then movies would be the cherry filled kind...a little sweet, a little sour and all kinds of delicious

As much as I love TV, I love movies even more. Unlike TV shows, when you watch a movie, you get to see the beginning, middle and end all in 2 or 3 hours. Movies can transport you into a whole other world. For the 2+ hours, you are somewhere else. With that said, I am soooo excited to share with you the movies I am so excited about that are coming out. I have included the trailers so you can see them as well. As much as I would love to put these in order of how excited I am to how excited I am....I thought I would go on the release date in order of how soon they come out. These are the ones for the rest of the year. I am saving up to see them all. Luckily I have a husband who loves movies just as much as me and will see almost anything....well anything that includes blood and guts and sex and fighting and horror. So with that said, luckily I have a mom who will see all the other movies my husband won't see.
Please enjoy!

Can you tell I love Jennifer Lawrence. LOVE her!

And that my movie friends is it up until March 2015. I hope there is a few in here you want to see now and are as excited as me! Let me know which ones peak your interest and which ones don't seem that interesting to you. I love talking movies so your opinion is greatly appreciated.
If you live in the DFW area, I would highly recommend going to the AMC at Grapevine Mills. They have what they call Cinema Suites and Fork & Screen movie theatres. Cinema Suites you must be 18 years or older and you get to sit in these huge comfy chairs that recline. They only allow so many people and you get to pick your seats. You get to order off a menu so you can eat and drink while watching the movie. Fork & Screen you must be at least 13 years old (unless with a parent) and it's exactly like Cinema Suites but the chairs don't recline or anything. It does cost a little more to sit in these theatres but it is totally worth it.

Thank you YouTube and IMDB for all the clips and information for each movie.

I can always tell its time to bathe him when he starts to smell like one of my favorite chips!!!!

So this is Bullet!

Bullet is a French bulldog and one of my children. Bullet suffers from seasonal allergies and is the type of dog who licks his feet. When Bullet licks his feet to much, they start to smell. And the smell smells like Fritos. No joke. So if you ever have had or do have a dog that has what I call "Frito Feet", I am going to tell you how you can help him/her out with that.

One of the many perks to Coconut Oil is the solution to Frito Feet. The reason you want to help your dog out and get rid of that is because it is bacteria mixed with their salvia, all built up into their paws. When too much bacteria gets into their paws, they start to lick. And lick and lick and lick. And that bacteria can be bad for them. Dogs come in contact with so many things and then to put those ingredients into their system can be very harmful. I did some research to find out what I could do to help Bullet out, and the #1 thing I kept coming across was Coconut Oil. So Bobby and I tried it. And OMG...it worked instantly. Not only did it take the smell away, but he didn't lick. It took the itch away from him too. It also helped with his allergies. I normally will give Bullet half of a Benadryl when he is really bad, but I have been able to cut that almost to not giving it to him at all.

So grab your 4 legged child, Coconut Oil of your choice, a water hose (or in the bathtub, just be sure to really clean the bottom of your tub when your down so you don't slip) and a towel and let's get rid of that Frito Feet!

It's a really easy 3 step process.
Wet their feet a little.
Rub in the Coconut oil. Front feet first.

Make sure you really get deep in their paws. Bullet loves this part of the ordeal. See the smile on his face!

And then rinse them very well.

Next do the back feet.

And rinse.

Then make sure you towel dry their feet really well. Don't let them go walking around the yard. I would also recommend taking them inside for about an hour so the feet really have time to dry.

Coconut Oil will not hurt them but you don't want to track it all over your house or make them slip and slide everywhere.

Then after he is done, its always time for a photo shoot. Bullet definitely has the looks in our family. I mean look at the face. How can you not love a face like that!

If I only knew what he was saying to me. Actually, I may not want to know what he is saying to me. It might be for the best that he can't talk.

Also, this is the brand we use at the house.

You can find a few different selections at your local grocery store. Also, please make sure if your dog does suffer from this to clean his/her feet once a month. It took Bobby and I like 2 minutes last night from start to finish. Even if your dog doesn't suffer from Frito Feet but does have allergies or licks his/her paws, it won't harm them to do this. I promise.

My other pup, Dash, was not liking all the attention Bullet was receiving so to pacify him, I took his photo. I told him he would make the blog as well so here is my sweet Dasher!
Brat!
