1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks old

Dear Diary,

Yesterday we were 4 weeks old! She is perfectly sweet and sleeps really good. She is very alert when she is awake. She is breastfeeding and taking formula since I don't produce enough milk. She smiles a lot when she sleeps and she goes like 3 or 4 hours in the middle of the night. She hates being cold and that's really the only time she cries is when she is being changed. She loves a warm bath and is entranced when Brody sings to her.

Here are her 1, 2 and 3 week photos. You can keep up with her and us on Instagram by following my username dani_lynn_lewis.

Introducing.....

I would love for you all to meet Miss. Brooklynn Marjorie Lewis. She was born May 16, 2018 at 9:30am and weighed 7.8 lbs and was 20 inches long. She is perfectly sweet and already almost 4 weeks old. I have been adjusting to being a mom of two, hence the lack of post lately but I am back and plan on catching everyone up soon.

Starting tomorrow, I will do weekly updates for her, including previous weeks tomorrow. I can't believe she will be a month old Saturday and I will do monthly updates as well.

She really is perfect and we couldn't be more blessed.

Maternity Photos

Wednesday y'all.

WEDNESDAY!

That's the day I get to meet my daughter. MY daughter. I have been waiting and praying for this little girl and it's almost here.

WEDNESDAY!

Back in April, I got with my girl Betsy for an incredible maternity shoot. I had been looking on Pinterest for some really cool maternity photos and wanted to step out of the box per say. So I found this really cool bath maternity shoot that involved milk and I sent her a picture asking her if she thought we could do it. Of course she was up for it. So I found a dress on Amazon that I had thought would be cool (tagged at the very bottom of this post in case you are interested), bought 4 gallons of milk and 3 different color roses and we made it happen. Also, my bedroom made for some great shots as well so it was nice not having to leave my house!

I am going to warn you. These are a little showy. I only picked out a few of my favorites because if you aren't aware, in pregnancy, EVERYTHING grows on you so these might seem a little flashy to some people. I do apologize if they offend you. You can close the browser now and I'll never know!

Betsy- GIRL! You are incredible. I would like to take credit for how good these turned out but I can't. When you get behind that camera, you just come to life. You gave me such great direction and never made me feel uncomfortable. I had such fun with you during this shoot.

I wish y'all could have just seen her taking these! It's a good thing she does CrossFit and is strong cause at one point she standing over me on an inch of tub, just shooting.
Here is all the information you need to get in touch with Betsy if you want to use her for photo-shoots.

Also, here is the dress from Amazon if you are interested in it yourself.

Pregnancy is such a beautiful thing even though I feel like the size of a house and nothing fits, I am so glad I have these to look back on. To remember this time in my life. Because this is the last one, the last time I will be pregnant. And even though it has been a rough (almost) 39 weeks, it still is such a wonderful thing to be able to get pregnant and carry to term.
I'm blessed!

Interested in how we did the milk bath, you simply just add the milk to warm water and add as much or as little for color. We ended up using all 4 gallons but I have a huge tub and needed more water than most tubs need. Also, milk is really good for the skin surprisingly. My skin was like silk for days!

Billie is 4

Dear Diary,

Happy 4th birthday to this funny girl right here....Billie Marie!

Where do I start with her? She is as crazy as they come but her heart is as big as they come. She is full of spirit and light and love and she is super funny. Her deep voice is my favorite and I love how blunt she is. She is my home-girl through and through. I love everything about her. We call her little Momma because that's what she is. She has a doll that she is already practicing on for when Brooklynn comes and I have a feeling at the hospital it's going to be like pulling teeth to get Brooklynn away from her. She is going to hog that little girl of mine as long as we let her. I just can't believe she is 4!

Billie Marie-
Girl....you are the best! I just adore you and I thank God everyday that I get to be your Aunt (even though you call me Uncle). I hope you stay as free-spirited as you are now and I love you so very much. I can't wait to see you hold your new cousin next week!

Love, Uncle Dani

Brooklynn Update

Dear Diary,

I had a doctors appointment today to check on things. We are currently 37 weeks and 2 days and after further talking to my doctor, she would like to take Brooklynn at 39 weeks now. So Brooklynn's new due date is May 16th! That's 13 days y'all! I don't think I have my mind wrapped around it just yet. I really have to get my butt in gear and order everything I am missing. Sorry for being so absent on the blog. It's been a hard pregnancy and I've been trying to nap in the afternoons. I will do a 38 week update next Tuesday (hopefully) and catch you all up then.

I had my 2 year Swink Anniversary last week and snapped this photo of me. I can't believe it's been 2 years. They have been so wonderful this whole pregnancy. Helping me and adjusting work outs and taking it slow with me. My goal was to go 38 weeks with them and I'm almost there. Don't ever let anyone tell you can't work out pregnant. Always listen to your body of course but they have truly helped me in the growth of my body and adjusting my ligaments and stretching. And when I would tell them I couldn't do something or it would be taking me past my limits, they always found a way to help me adjust. I just love this place and these people (especially Betsy and Trevor who have had to deal with me the most) and I can't wait to get my body back!!! haha

Swim lessons

Not sure if you have heard, but Bobby and I are building a pool. We are super stoked about it and building it to what we want. This house isn't our forever home, but it's a home will be in for a very long time so we wanted to build the pool for us and our children. But with building a pool, comes the fear of my kiddo not knowing how to swim. So as soon as we made the first down payment, and they started digging, I looked into swim lessons for Brody. I ended up choosing Aqua Tots in Mansfield and I am so glad I did. He goes twice a week and has had 4 lessons so far. I can already see a massive improvement. My whole goal for him is to if he was to fall in and I couldn't reach him in time to help, can he find a way to the wall or a stair and that is their goal for him as well. Teaching him to kick and reach and hold his breathe when he goes under. And not be afraid of the water either. They are also teaching him to sit on a stair and stay there. As well as sit on the side of the pool and stay there. To wait for a grown up. Once the pool is built (end of May is what they are saying), I will move his lessons to once a week since we will be playing in the pool all summer and he can continue learning.

Here are a few pictures I snapped today from his class. I usually take video cause I like looking back to see his progress but today I snapped a few of what they are teaching him in case you are interested.
These first set of photos he is brought out to the water by going under, he comes up and gets to his back, then turns around and goes back under to the step where he reaches for it to pull himself up.

Here she is teaching to swim with his arms and kick his feet.

Waiting his turn and learning to sit

Then teaching him to float on his back and to hold himself in that position. In this position, he can breathe until someone can get to him. So if he can't quite make it to the edge of the pool or a step, he needs to learn to turn to his back and float for air.

I have linked Aqua Tots so you can look them up yourself. They aren't cheap but both Bobby and I decided that didn't matter when it came to his safety. I chose to end Little Gym for the time being and we are doing this instead. Learning to swim is the most important lesson right now for him for this summer. I love how I am already seeing such improvement. Day one he cried half of class and clung to his teacher. Day two he sort of cried but not really. Day three he walked in himself and waved to me. And then today he was so excited and told me what he was going to do on the drive over. Even telling me the words his teacher uses in the water. I love that I chose this for him and I can't wait to see where he goes next in his lessons!

Brooklynn's Baby Shower

Dear Diary,

Last Saturday, my girls, Kara, Kristen, Angie, Gabby, Becca, and Julie threw me a baby shower for Brooklynn.

It was incredible. So many people came and gave Brooklynn so many gifts. I am so incredibly blessed by the women in my life and I am so glad Brooklynn will have strong, beautiful women to look up to. Bobby and Brody showed up at the end. Bobby had to get somewhere but all those women and girls in that room flocked to Brody and watched him and took care of him while I finished up. Becca brought her camera and took photos of the shower and below are just a few of my favorites. She was able to do both black and white and color photos so you might see some duplicated.
Here are the black and white favorites.

Here are the color favorites. There is such a difference between black and white photos to full on color. I love how rustic she made the photos look.

Thank you so much to my girls for throwing this for us. I am so blessed to have you in my life and now Brooklynn's life. And thank you to Becca for the photos. And a BIG thank you to those who came to celebrate with me. I love you all!
