17 weeks

How far along? 17 weeks, 3 days

Total weight gain? 5 and 1/2 lbs.

Maternity clothes? For sure. None of my normal pants fit this ever growing belly and if I don't wear the right shirt, I just look like I've had too many beers and eaten too many jelly donuts.

Sleeping? Like a queen, minus the 3 times I wake up to pee. I ordered me a pregnancy pillow yesterday so I can not wait to get that in. I hope it fits in my bed with my handsome husband and my 2 perfect dogs. It may be an adjustment at first for us but hoping we can work around it. Luckily Bullet sleeps at my left foot at the very end of the bed, under the covers and Dash sleeps at the end of the bed (on top of the covers) by my right foot and Bobby's left foot. Dash has to know where all 3 of us are. If Bullet makes his way up to our heads, Dash makes his way up. He can't stand to not be by Bullet when he sleeps. And in the morning when I get up, I let them out and they high tail it back to where I was sleeping and I put the covers over them and they snuggle as close as they can to Bobby. He loves it though. If it was up to him, Bullet and Dash would sleep at our heads, as close to him as possible. But I can't stand that so Momma wins during the night and he gets the morning time to be with them.

Best moment this week? Getting a surprise gift when I got to work this morning. My sweet parents got baby boy a Mighty Mouse shirt. They had it made on Amazon (something I didn't know Amazon did). I have been looking and looking for one and never thought to make one. I hope this is his first of many Mighty Mouse shirts. Matt, Angie and Colton are going to Disney World for spring break and I told her if she saw anything with Mighty Mouse on it, to get it for him. I know MM is a marvel character but I wasn't sure if he was part of Disney or not.

Worst moment this week? Monday I woke up not being able to walk. I was having major growing pains to the point where when I did walk, I was hunched over. It took a heating pad and warm bath for me to be able to walk ok. Luckily, I stayed home due to the weather and was able to tend to myself at home because I would have had to call in for half a day. Tuesday I woke up with the same pain but it was gone within an hour. I found out it was just my uterus expanding and causing some discomfort down there. A friend told me that once I start getting really big, my ribs will start to crack a little to expand and I am dreading this day. I don't do pain well and I can't really describe it to Bobby since he can't physically be in this situation. I have put off asking him to massage my lower back, knowing once it gets closer in time I will really need him but I may be cashing in soon. Especially after I do the dishes. I would rather do the dishes and him massage my lower back than him do the dishes. (I have a weird way I like my dishwasher loaded and freak out if things are not put in properly so I would have to go in behind him anyways to change it. It's all me....not him)

Do I miss anything? So last week I told you no, that everything was ok. Well this week has been different. I really want a small glass of wine. Nothing dramatic, nothing to where people would stare at me funny, just a nice, small glass of wine. I've actually gone longer than I thought I would but I may have to splurge and have one soon. And you can keep your opinions to yourself on this. I have read and talked to many different people on this situation and I don't plan on getting into a discussion with anyone over it. Not to sound rude but your opinions are your opinions and mine are mine.

Cravings? I was craving warm chocolate chip cookies last weekend and we went to Home Goods for some decorative pillows and they have a gluten free section of food (go figure). So I bought a box but instead of making them into cookies, I made it into a brownie type instead. OMG they were perfectly delicious. I kept hearing "Damn you Dani!" out of kitchen all week because Bobby kept sneaking a bite of them. He tries so hard to stay healthy but when I bake, he can't help it. Thick crust Pepperoni Pizza has been a strong craving this week. Soft warm pretzels too. I am finding I am craving things I can't find in gluten free. Of course chips (always). This week's chip of choice was Tostito's Lime chips....they are the best!

Aversions? Meat has become a strong aversion this week. And that's a majority of our dinners because he is trying to get protein down me. I usually love his meat sauce but I couldn't do it this week. He does his best to make sure my meat is a small and flat as possible so I don't have to chew a large piece and he has found this piece of beef wrapped in bacon that I love. He cooks it in the oven for me and then takes the bacon off from around it and the meat taste like soft roast beef that has been marinated for days. It's the only thing he doesn't really doctor for me because he knows I will devour it. Cooked vegetables that turn soggy are out of the question.

Pregnancy symptoms? The insides of me expanding and hurting me. Not hungry at all and then starving the next. It's like it hits me suddenly. Pisses me off. Peeing every hour. Feeling tired.

Belly button? In

Stretch marks? No

Looking forward to? Bobby and I have some big news coming in the next couple of weeks that I can't wait to share with you. But for now, mums the word from me. And no it doesn't involve getting a new puppy or the pig I want. First we are having a baby so me asking for a new puppy would make my husband laugh and roll his eyes. As for the pig.....that's more likely to happen after the baby comes than a new puppy. But that's not the news :)

Gender? Boy

Name? Mighty Mouse

Due? August 4, 2015

For Wednesday's Lent Scripture comes from Matthew 10, verses 26-28- Fear God, Not Man (part 1)- 26 "So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell."

For Thursday's Lent Scripture comes from Matthew 10, verses 40-42- Rewards- 40 "Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. 41 The one who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and the one who receives a righteous person because he is a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward. 42 And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will be no means lose his reward."

For today's Lent Scripture comes from Mark 10, verses 13-16- Jesus and Little Children- 13 And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked him. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, "Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 15 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it." 16 And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

When in doubt, get a kids meal. It does come with a toy!

Cravings, they are a funny thing. Especially pregnant. I am not very hungry during the day but as soon as 8pm hits, I can't get enough to eat. And you don't have to tell me.....I know how bad it is. But during the day, when I do crave something, it tends to be fast food. And again, you don't have to tell me....I know how bad it is. But do we really know how bad it is? We are told to avoid it or only indulge in it when we want to treat ourselves to that occasional calorie splurge and we are told it's so bad for you and all this and all that. But have you ever really looked at the calorie content of fast food? I am doing my best to avoid many calories and junk food while pregnant so I decided to do this post today, to make myself really see how bad this stuff is for you. Will it change my mind or yours? The next time you are in the Taco Bell line, will you ease out of it? Or will this make you want it more and make you so hungry that you won't be able to control yourself and say "Damn you Dani....why did you have to post such yummy looking food that all I can think about now is a damn Krispy Kreme Donut!"

McDonald's Big Mac- 550 calories

McDonald's Happy Meal w/ Cheeseburger, fries, apple slices and 2% milk- 535 calories

Dunkin Donuts Glazed Donut- 260 calories

KFC Original Recipe drumstick- 120 calories

Subway 6 inch Cold Cut Combo- 370 calories

DQ small Oreo Cookies Blizzard- 550 calories

Burger King BK Quad Stacker Burger- 820 calories

Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll- 880 calories

Taco Bell Crunchy Taco- 170 calories

Sonic Large Cherry Limeade- 340 calories

Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich- 440 calories

Arby's Large Curly Fries- 630 calories

Wendy's Large Frosty- 600 calories

Carl Jr's The Original Six Dollar Burger- 910 calories

Five Guys and Fries Bacon Cheeseburger- 920 calories

Red Robin A.1. Peppercorn Burger Monster Meal- 3540 calories

White Castle Original Slider- 140 calories

Boston Market 3 piece dark w/ mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and cornbread- 890 calories

Cheesecake Factory Peanut Butter Chocolate Cheesecake- 1500 calories

Krispy Kreme Glazed Donut- 190 calories

And my favorite thing in fast food-
Taco Bell Original Doritos Locos Tacos- 170 calories

Please don't be mad at me! I am only trying to inform. We live in the fattest country in the world, and these are part of the reason why. I am not saying don't indulge every so often, Lord know's I do, just read the facts, read the nutrition before you go. Understand what you are about to eat. You can find all nutritional facts to every place you eat, online, either on their website or on someone else's website. They put this stuff out there, rather you choose to read it or not is up to you. Calories aren't bad for you. Your body needs calories for energy. It's when you eat too many and don't burn them off is what leads to weight gain. There is a way to have your cake and eat it too....by exercising. And with so many different ways to burn calories, you really should have no excuse.

So the next time I am in the Taco Bell line, I am going to remember that I can have my Doritos Taco (or 3), I just need to remember to walk an extra mile (burns 100 calories) or add a 30 minute yoga session (burns 98 calories) to my day and make sure all my other meal's are healthy enough to balance it out.

Something Big is coming to Younique!

I have such great news! Younique has so many new things coming out in March, that I can't wait till March to tell you about!

The first one I want to tell you about actually comes out today. So if you are familiar with our products, you know everything was in mineral form. But now, you can get the blush in pressed form! So now you don't need to measure out your blush anymore. And it comes in such beautiful colors. Also, these can be used on your lips as a stain. You just get the tip of your finger wet, put a dab on there and spread it on. Seal it with clear lip-gloss or chap-stick and your good to go. The formula is the same, it just now pressed. $29

The next product is something that was a Kudos give-away a few months ago and they got such wonderful feed back, they decided to turn it into a product for buy. It is Stiff Upper Lip lip stain that is a smudge proof, stubborn lip color that won't budge. It delivers a long-lasting color with a smooth matte finish. Available March 1st in 7 colors. $22 each. Set of 3- $60. Set of 7- $140

The next product was also a Kudos give-away back in January. If you have never heard of these, they are awesome. They are blending Buds and they apply your makeup with such ease. It gives you that professional look. They help hide makeup lines and come in 2 different sizes, in the same packaging. Available March 1st. $25

The next product is brand new and something I am so excited about. How do you take your eye make-up off? Soap and water? Baby oil? Well stop doing that! You are striping your face and pulling your lashes out. Start using Shine Eye Makeup Remover Cloths. They will be your new best friend, especially when you travel. So convenient and leave your eyes and around the eyes hydrated and moisturized. They are infused with sunflower oil, olive oil, vitamin E and rosemary. Available late March and they come 36 to one pack for $20.

The next new product I want to introduce you to is called Beachfront Bronzer. Who doesn't love a good bronzer for their face but hate the way they smell or leave your skin extra dry? They come in 3 different colors, Sunset, Malibu and Hermosa. They give you a sun kissed glow, without making you look orange. Available March 1st. $32

The next 2 products I am so excited about and can't wait to get my hands on. Splurge cream shadow and brush. Finally, a cream shadow that is long wearing, smudge-proof & water-resistant. Younique will introduce a new color each month. These are great  for people who have 5 minutes in the morning for makeup. And the brush is specifically designed for the cream. Available March 1st, the creams will be $26 and the brush is $15.

How excited are you for these? Totally right! You can find all of these and more at www.youniqueproducts.com/DaniLynnLewis and this is a great time to join my team as well. I love selling Younique. I love reaching out to women and helping them feel good, feel pretty, help them find themselves and be YOUnique!

"Stay weird, stay different"

Dear Diary,

Today is going to be a short one. I was going to talk about The Oscars again and talk on a few of the speeches that were just great but I changed my mind. I am 3 days behind in my Lent promise and I feel like I need to catch up with that instead. Instead of taking something away for Lent, I decided to add a Scripture into my life each day for it. I realize I don't blog on Saturday's and Sunday's but I remembered I didn't do one yesterday either. I would like to blame it on pregnancy brain and a little part of that is probably right but there is no one else to blame but myself so for today's blog, I have 4 different Scriptures. I am trying to keep all of them about Jesus and his work and everything he did leading up to Easter.

For Saturday:
Luke 5, verses 12-16: Healing a Leper (ESV): 12 While he was in one of the cities, there came a man full of leprosy. And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, "Lord, if you will, you can make me clean." 13 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, "I will; be clean." And immediately the leprosy left him. 14 And he charged him to tell no one, but "go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as Moses commended, for a proof to them." 15 But now even more the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities. 16 But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.

For Sunday:
Luke 6, verses 37-38 (ESV): 37 "Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; 38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you."

For Monday:
Luke 7, verses 13-16: Raising a Widow's Son (ESV): 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep." 14 The he came up and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, "Young man, I say to you, Rise." 15 And the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. 16 Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying, " A great prophet has arisen amoung us!" and "God has visited his people!"

For today:
Matthew 22, verses 36-39: The Greatest Commandment (ESV): 36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" 37 And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Dear God, I apologize for not keeping my word. I have no excuse but only an apology. Thank you for your words. Thank you for your reminders about keeping you first in my life and loving people for who they are. We live in such a mean world sometimes, a world where a kid thinks his only way out is to take his own life. A world where people bully other people because they themselves are getting bullied at home. A world that lights dogs on fire for no reason then to have fun. I pray for these people. The people that don't know you, the people who have not known your love. The people who are suffering and can't find way out. Please Lord, fill there hearts like you fill mine. Remind them you are always a step in front and always there to catch them, if they just let you. Thank you for putting people like Graham Moore into the world, to remind those "different" kids/people that it's ok to be "different".
I love you Father.

"I really like that dress. It takes a lot of balls to wear that dress!"- NPH

The Academy Awards, Part 1- Let's talk about the Fashion

So the Oscars were last night and as much as I love the Oscars, I was a tad brokenhearted sitting on my couch. Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were NOT there! The three people I look forward to the most were not present on my favorite night of the year. So I went into the night crushed already. But I didn't let that take me away from the night and looking at all the beautiful dresses and suits. I took notes on all my favorite people so let's get to it.

My favorite of the night went to Rosamund Pike. She looked absolutely gorgeous! She wore Givenchy and I loved everything about her. From the dress to the hair and earrings, she is starting to become one of my favorite people and after the baby comes, I still might get my hair cut just like hers.

Anna Kendrick wore a custom Thakoon dress and boy, did she look amazing. I love how she looks sexy without showing a lot off. She just has a class about her. She was the first one that caught my eye on the red carpet. And then her performance with NPH on stage was just perfect.

Dakota Johnson and Melanie Griffith were my favorite pair of the evening. I love this mother/daughter duo. Dakota wore Saint Laurent and Melanie wore Roland Mouret. And when they asked Melanie if she has seen Fifty Shades of Grey, she nicely said no, I won't be seeing that. And I don't blame her. I would not want to watch my daughter in those scenes. She complimented on how talented her daughter was and didn't need to see the movie to prove it to herself.

Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite people in the whole world. Kara and I both still see and hear Elle Woods whenever she speaks. She is gorgeous and nice and has just a great attitude. And she didn't disappoint on the red carpet. I loved her Tom Ford dress. Just classic.

Jennifer Lopez wore Elie Saab Couture and the only reason I picked her on my list is because I think J.Lo is so pretty. And if her dress wasn't that low, it might have been my favorite of the evening. I love how she can make any ponytail look amazing. Mine always looks flat and dead but not hers. She just looked flawless (minus the cleavage).

Lupita Nyongo wore a Calvin Klein original and boy was it ever original. This lady never disappoints. There was over 6000 pearls on the dress. She claimed it was comfy but if someone made me a dress full of pearls, I would say anything they wanted me too.

Patricia Arquette (who I predicted would win for Boyhood) wore her friends custom dress. When they were little girls, Patricia told her she wanted to be an actress and her friend, Rosetta Getty, told her she wanted to be a fashion designer and here they are many years later. She looked gorgeous. I love Patricia so very much and her speech was just perfect (more on that tomorrow).

One of the prettiest women in Hollywood to me would be Margot Robbie (plus her name is to die for). That girl could wear a paper sack and she would still make my list. But she didn't and wore Saint Laurent instead. This is how low cut is done. Very pretty, very classy with the sheer sleeves. And her red lips were popping. Just perfect.

Bradley Cooper is one of my top 5 favorite actors (and his looks don't hurt this position). Him as Chris Kyle was just perfect. American Sniper is one of my favorite movies and he did so good in it. And last night he looked dreamy as ever. I do prefer his hair a little messy (like in The Hangover) but he was going for a gentlemen look and he totally had my heart.

Channing Tatum wore Dolce and Gabbana and did not disappoint. Men get off so easy at award shows. As long as they have looks, they will get put on the list. But I don't think just anyone can pull off a suit. The suit must be tailored to you and Channing does just that. Was not a fan of the facial hair but to each is own.

The guy that surprised me this evening was Miles Teller. I was a fan of his in Footloose, and then again in Project X and I found myself really laughing at him in 21 & Over but really noticed him in Divergent. I have not seen Whiplash but have heard only good things (it did win a lot of awards last night). He chose for a dark blue suit over black. I love when men step out of the box a little. Rather it was him who chose it or a stylish, they deserve a slap on the back. He looked great.

The biggest fashion accessory I saw of the evening was these weird type of earrings and I became a fan of them as the night went on. I saw them on a different bunch of women. Instead of the earring going down, the earring went up the ear. It's such a neat, gorgeous concept; taking an everyday item and enhancing it. Chloe Grace Moretz had my favorite ones.

There wasn't anyone that just stood out bad to me. Everyone kept it lower key and maybe because it's the Oscars. The classiest night of the year! Tomorrow we will go over the actual ceremony and discuss speeches because there was a few that were incredible.

Now back to my snow day at home. A sweet white lab is dying to go play!

16 weeks

We switched places this time because the other place is hard to get the couch in that position and to keep the dogs on it for any period of time is hard. But they did so good on this couch cause it's comfy for them. I am not a fan of the background so it might be different next week. Isn't it funny how Dash is always beside me and Bullet on the end. Dash won't let Bullet between us. It may start with Bullet in the middle, but Dash ends up jumping over him and pushing him. Momma's boy!

How far along? 16 weeks and 3 days

Total weight gain? 5 lbs- which I am thrilled about. I finally feel like I am on the right weight path with the number of weeks I am. I never thought I would be thrilled to be gaining weight but knowing he is growing good makes me happy about it.

Maternity clothes? About 90% yes. Pants for sure and mostly my tops. I still have a few of my dresses I can wear and all of my sweaters still fit me.

Sleeping? This week I have been sleeping really good. I haven't had many dreams this week or at least nothing like last week. I have felt more tired in the afternoon then I think I should in my 2nd trimester but I am not worried about it.

Best moment this week? Actually feeling pregnant and not just fat. Yesterday in the outfit I wore, you could really tell. I had 3 people compliment me about it and I just grinned.

Worst moment this week? This week has been really good. I haven't had anything bad happen. It's been a pretty low key week. I haven't been wanting to use the treadmill so my exercise this week has not been good. I am an outdoors walker/runner and hate treadmills so when I get in this mood, it's really hard to get me out.

Do I miss anything? At this moment in time, no. I am finally over not eating sushi and the shocker of all shocks, I haven't really wanted wine. I haven't even thought about it to be honest. I thought it was going to be really hard for me, because of my passion and love for wine, but I think I have shocked myself more than anyone when it comes to it. I am not a big liquor drinker nor do I drink beer, so they haven't even crossed my mind. Plus Bobby doesn't drink on a regular basis so I don't have to see him do it in front of me.

Cravings? Lay's pickle chips. I got me a small bag at the gas station yesterday and ended up eating the whole bag within the day. One night a week I make egg drop soup and this week it's all I have thought about. Milk is high on my craving list. I switched to Vitamin D milk for the benefits for the baby and I can't seem to get enough of it. I have found I have been craving plain food. I feel like I am reverting back into my first trimester; being tired, not wanting much food, sleeping. My first trimester went so perfectly smooth, like my second should be going. It's like they decided to switch on me.

Aversions? Just food in general. I am trying my best to eat small meals during the day but nothing sounds good and a girl can't live on chips and milk alone. The weight would really come on and I am trying to avoid gaining more than I need too. Bobby is so good about cooking healthy meals at night and I do my best to eat my whole plate but some nights I just stare at it. I am a huge breakfast eater but even now I have to force myself to eat something. I have been wanting carbs but being gluten free limits me so trying to find a balance is just hard and not something I like doing.

Pregnancy symptoms? Tired. Forgetfulness. Peeing every hour. Waking up at 2am and wanting ice cream. Starving but nothing looks good. My nipples have killed me this week. Belly has finally decided to pop some.

Belly Button? In

Stretch marks? Nope

Looking forward to? Getting a 100% confirmation that this little bugger is a boy. With the genetic testing, they claim they are only 80% sure and they say they get girls wrong more than boys. But let me tell you, the doctor focused right on his parts and explained to me what it would look like if boy and girl and I am 100% confident this is a little boy, and the doctor seemed pretty confident he was looking at a penis. He even went around and around the area to see it at different angles. Baby boy had his legs spread eagle and showing off already. But to hear them 100% confirm it for me will just be music to my ears.

Gender? Doctor- 80% boy. Mom- 100% boy

Name? Still can't decide between the 2 names we have. I think we have moved over it for a while and to see if one just keeps sticking in our minds. You try to not associate people or actors with names but it's hard.

Due date? August 4th, 2015

Scripture of the day comes from Luke, chapter 4, verses 1-13 (ESV); The Temptation of Jesus: 1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness 2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry. 3 The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread." 4 And Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone.' " 5 And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, 6 and said to him, "To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it have been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. 7 If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours." 8 And Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.' " 9 And he took him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, "If you the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, 10 for it is written, 'He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you,' 11 and 'On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.' " 12 And Jesus answered him, "It is said, 'You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.' " 13 And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time.

Dear God, the devil tries to tempt me everyday. And everyday I must remind myself of your word and your blessing of Jesus Christ to confess my sins to. Thank you for always believing in me and giving me constant reminders of your good in the world. Amen!

Don't forget they are this Sunday, February 22nd, on ABC at 7pm.

Today's scripture comes from Matthew: Chapter 3: verses 16-17- 16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; 17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

Dear God, Thank you for giving us your son so we have an example to follow behind. Deciding to be baptized is allowing you, God into our lives. A place I only love to be, a world where I want to live. With you as my captain, I can make it through anything! Amen.
