My husband

Happy 30th Birthday to my main man!

Where do I begin? I swear he is the best husband on the planet. I really wish you all could for just one day experience what it's like to be his wife. He is kind and good. He always does right by me and Brody. He always puts us first. He apologizes when he has to work late. He apologizes when I have to do bath and bed time by myself for Brody. He loves with every cell in his body. He has a love of fitness and is an inspiration to me beyond what he knows. He works super hard to give Brody and I a fantastic life. He never complained when I told him I thought I might continue being a stay at home mom. In fact, he actually encouraged it. He is the best dad to Brody. Anyone who witnesses him being a dad can't help but compliment. Them together is my favorite view.

I love you baby. Happy happy birthday and welcome to your 30's. Your hot, sexy and you make 30 look oh so good!

Sick

Do you know what sucks?

Feeling like utter crap and being a mom at the same time! Brody and I had so much to do today so we did it but now I am run down.

To bed I go because someone has a 30th birthday tomorrow and my 2 men are in a wedding this weekend and I just don't have time for this right now!

See y'all tomorrow.

First Hair Cut

Brody got a haircut y'all!

It was about time this little boy of mine did. It was becoming a mullet and it needed to go. Since he is in a wedding this weekend, it just made sense to get it done. Bobby knew he wanted to take him to his barber in Dallas so we made an appointment for both of them and went. We had no idea what to expect. Brody is hit or miss with the attitude. He did FABULOUS! He sat in Bobby's lap and let Ralph do his hair. He never flinched or moved. Only a few times did he look back to see what Ralph had in his hand but that was it. We did bring his favorite show to watch and some snacks but I only needed to pull out the snacks. Ralph was so patient, so quick, never let Brody know he was there, worked with a easy hand and just really made Brody comfortable. I can never thank Ralph enough for this!

Here is the before and after:

Bobby's barber's name is Ralph Nicol and he works at Urban Soul Studio in Dallas. If you download the goPanache app on your phone, at the top of the app you can search. Search for Dallas, TX and then search Ralph and he should be the first one. You can book him through that and trust me, you want to!

Julie

I just want to say a quick Happy Birthday to one of my best friends, Julie.

Girl, you are crazy but I love you so very much. You always have my back. Always tell me the truth. Always make me laugh. You are my polar opposite but it works so well. You bring the crazy, fun side out of me. I always know when you are coming, I am going to have a good time. No matter what it is. You are a great friend, a great wife but where I feel like you succeed the most is being a mom. You have taught me so many things about being a mom. You have a heart of gold and even though you are small, you scare me. No one wants to come across you in a dark alley :)!

You share my love of tacos and wine and I just couldn't love you more!
Happy Birthday Thunder Buddy!

Five on Friday

one. Brush-a Brush-a Brush-a
I bought Brody is first toothbrush and toothpaste the other day. He is loving brushing in his teeth. He is really good at it too. He's not so big on the toothpaste but he will get there. I am trying to teach him good habits now so they stick with him. Plus he has a mouth full of teeth so I thought it was time.

two. White Wine for Christmas
Since the holidays tend to be loaded with sweets, stay away from sweet wine for Christmas (unless that's all you drink). Go with a Prosecco or Champagne. They tend to be drier and go really well with almost anything you eat this time of the year and the price range varies too. True Champagne starts around $30 and Prosecco's start around $8. If you aren't a fan of bubbles, Sauvignon Blancs are good too. Nobilo is a great brand that ranges $8-$10.

three. Red Wine for Christmas
For red I would go with either a Pinot Noir or a Cabernet Sauvignon. Pinot's are good for red drinkers period. You can feel safe taking a bottle of Pinot because it's lighter in flavor and easier to drink and goes with almost anything. Mark West is a good brand is only around $7-$10. But if you know the place you are going has true red drinkers, take a bottle of Cab because Cab goes good with sweet, especially chocolate. There are many brands of Cab's out there and they range in price. A $12-$20 bottle is a safe price range. And if all else fails, take a bottle of a Red Blend. Red Blends are good to take if you don't like Pinot Noir. They are easy to drink and are heavier on the palate than Pinot's but not as heavy as a Cab. A good price range for those is $9-$15.

four. Stouffer's Mexican Style Lasagna
Lunch is my hardest meal for myself. Breakfast is so easy and Bobby makes us dinner most nights but lunches I am on my own. I try to avoid fast food (I do get it once a week and share with Brody) so I am always trying to find something for lunch at the grocery store. I came across this Stouffer's individual lasagna in Mexican style and thought, why not. OMG! It's my favorite lunch during the week. I only buy one so I don't get burned out. 340 calories, 13g fat, 16g protein and 43g carbs. It is a little high in the carbs department but I am keeping up with a 16 month old so I don't let it bother me. Plus it keeps me full so its a win win for me.

five. My new phone
So I did it. I finally upgraded and I am so excited. I was due for one but my phone was working just fine so I didn't think anything about it. Then Bobby cracked his Samsung and decided he wanted to go back to Apple. So he said he would take my phone if I wanted to get the new one. So I smiled and said "Why Yes...that is a brilliant idea!" So I got the Iphone 7 Plus in Rose Gold and I decided to go with the Apple payment plan. I get a new phone every two years with the possibility to get a new one in just a year. Plus Apple care is included so it was totally worth it. We go next week to do all the switching because I am afraid I'll mess something up and all my photos will be gone and I refuse to let that happen!

Daddy Daughter Granddaughter

Dear Diary,

20 years.
That marks how long we have done this. I was 11 when my dad started this tradition. He would take us to dinner and then we would go shopping for our mom from him. It was so much fun. He would get us a treat at the mall or when we got older, a coffee! I just cherish my time with them. Mom goes to eat with us and then disappears while we shop. We make it a lot of fun. We laugh the whole time. I am opinionated and stay on my phone the whole time while Kara picks the stuff out because let's be honest, Kara is way better picker outer than me. She will hold it up and I will say yes or no because she knows I will have an opinion either way. Her and my husband are seriously the best shoppers for other people.

Thank you Dad for starting something with your girls all those years ago and making sure we do it every year. Mom always wants roughly the same stuff but it doesn't matter. It's our time with you and we just laugh at you the whole time but you don't care cause you are with your girls. I just love you Pop...more and more each day!

HBD Tim

Happy Birthday to my very funny brother in law, Tim.

Tim is seriously my big brother. I have known him since I was 13. Over the past year, I have been extremely proud of him and his weight lost accomplishment. He took himself out of a situation that was killing him and changed himself. Tim has always had a huge personality, always making me laugh, but you could tell the weight bothered him. Now Tim is freaking hot, let's be honest here. I tell him all the time. I even tell Kara too. He looks like the Tim I met at 13 haha. I just love where life has taken him this past year and I couldn't be more proud to call him my brother in law. He is such a great husband and dad. He is incredibly smart and kind and always knows just what to say.

Happy Birthday big brother of mine. I sure do love you!
BTW: How lucky are Kara and I?

So I did something.......

I got bangs!

I have been wanting bangs for like 2 years now but never had enough guts to actually do it. I am so picky on my hair and how it looks so doing something dramatic just isn't me. But I saw a few celebrities doing it and loved how they did it and styled it so I decided to do it.

And I am regretting it to be very honest. I don't know how to style bangs just yet and maybe when they grow in in a few weeks, maybe I can style them how I want them. I am just not use to seeing myself with them. And I have such a deep part to my hair that I am going to have to train them. So it's going to be a battle for myself. And with the holidays coming up and people wanting to take pictures...I'm just going to have to grin and bare it.

I will say that when I put my hair up, they look awesome! It's just when my hair is down I am having the trouble.

Brody cried and wouldn't come to me when I got home last night. My husband likes them. Says they are cool and different and that I need to give myself some time.

Anybody have bangs and know some tricks I can use? I really want to love them but I am just not feeling it right now. I know it's just hair and it grows but seriously....it's hair! On you! Part of your image! Ugh!

December 19th

Today marks a very special day for me.

7 years ago the love of my life asked me to be his wife. If that day never had happen, I wouldn't be Mrs. Bobby Lewis nor would I have Brody Daniel Lewis. So I love this day for more reasons that being proposed too.

Thank you baby for asking me to marry you all those years ago. It changed my life forever and I would never ever want it any other way.

Five on Friday

one. Double Ear Infection
That is what we have been dealing with all week except we didn't know that was it till I took him to the doctor yesterday. He was off starting on Monday and it slowly got worse. Tuesday he took an hour nap, Wednesday he took close to a 2 hour nap and yesterday was an hour and 1/2 and he's a 3 hour napper! And I could tell he was uncomfortable. Luckily they were able to get him in and today's he so much better. Thank you Amoxicillin.

two. Coffee Nut M&M's
I bought these on a whim at Target this week and lord help me. They are the BEST M&M's I have ever had. I didn't tell Bobby the flavor and when he went to try one, his eyes lite up and said "Coffee?" and I said yes and he agrees that they are delicious! They are on the Cartwheel app to so you can get them for discount in case you aren't sure.

three. Christmas Tree
Last Friday night, Brody and I went to the Little Gym to play around and when we got home, my Christmas Tree was on the floor. Bobby tried to fix it when he came home but it was destroyed. The lights had gone out weeks before that and we had gotten new lights to wrap around and said next year we would get a new one. We didn't plan on it this year but as fate would have it, we had to. Target Cartwheel app had 30% off Christmas Trees one day only and it was last Saturday! What are the odds? Plus an addition 30% off in stores only. So we went looking. It was either 6 and 1/2 foot trees or 4 foot trees. Then hiding in the back was this slim-fit 10 and 1/2 foot tree. I knew it would fit but Bobby was a little hesitant. I am so glad I talked him into it. We got this $534.00 tree for around $290 with tax. After it was all put up I just kept staring at it. It's the prettiest tree I have ever seen. I am so in love. I also got ornaments for all the kiddos in my life so those are the only things on there this year.

four. Gingerbread Sugar Cookies
Another Target find. I love gingerbread! But I am not a fan of the hard cookies you find at the stores. Bobby bought these for Brody and I Sunday night not knowing if we would like them or not. They are that soft butter/sugar cookie on bottom and gingerbread frosting with sprinkles on top. I am in heaven. And they are small so I don't feel guilty eating them. They too are on the Cartwheel app for 5% off.

five. Santa
This year was Brody's first time to meet Santa. We didn't do it last year cause I just didn't see a point in doing it but this year I had planned on it. After we joined the Little Gym, we found out that they were going to have a Santa there that Sunday from 4-5 for his age. It was perfect. I didn't have to fight mall crowds and it was in a smaller atmosphere with people he knew. He did way better than I thought. Didn't cry, just whined. It was great.

Blessed

Dear Diary,

I can't believe Christmas is in 10 days! Where has this year gone? I think this has been the fastest year of my life. I feels like yesterday my mom just started with me keeping Brody at 5 months old and now he's 16 months! I think watching your kid age as an effect on you with time. It's like their little lives happen so fast and I am trying everyday to keep up. For some reason this time of year brings out the thankful side of me. I do my best to thank God everyday for the life He has given me but sometimes I forget. Sometimes I am really selfish and forget that all of it is because of Him.

So I would like to take this time to thank God for my life. To thank Him for another year of being blessed. To give all glory to Him and remember that He is the reason for the season, not presents, not money. But love, family, friends, laughter, joy, being with each other, making others smile, giving.

I am not trying to preach or anything, but I would like to challenge you, right now, to say a prayer of thanks to God. Thank Him for whatever you would like. And after you do, comment on this link on Facebook or below and tell me something God has blessed you with. Rather it's the love of a spouse, or a giant hug each morning from your kiddo, or the job you have been praying for you suddenly got. Whatever makes you feel blessed, I want to know!

God has blessed me the most with these two. A hard working, loving, Godly man who puts Brody and I before himself and a child I could have never imagined being mine. He is just so perfectly made for me. They both are actually!

And challenge yourself each day to thank God and never forget what His love stands for!

Fave4

I use to have really thick hair. But the older I got, the thinner it got. Then I found out I have Hashimoto's disease and that is the reason for the thin hair. Then I got pregnant and my hair was better because of the hormones and vitamins. Then after Brody, it got terribly worse! Like just awful. It constently fell out and in the shower it would come out in clumps. I have an amazing hairdresser and she gave me pills and a shampoo to help. And they helped some, but my hair was still lacking something.

Insert Fave4.

I follow Jessie James Decker on Instagram and she kept raving about this product and how her hair has never felt or been better. So I thought what the hell. Can't hurt me and if it doesn't work then oh well. I'll keep looking!

I was incredibly surprised. I tend to not go based off celebrities since they get paid but my girl Jessie did not lie. Within a week my hair was healthier, stronger and thicker! I even wash Brody's hair with it a couple times a week and his hair is always a thousand times better after I do. My hair is soft and growing and it doesn't fall out as much. I LOVE this stuff.

They have:
  • 2 different shampoos- Beyond Big and Hydra Help= Big helps give your hair volume and Hydra helps to moisturize and hydrate.
  • 2 different conditioners- Let's Go Light and Repair It Right= Light is lightweight conditioner and Repair helps restore and strengthen.
  • A conditioning mist called Dearly Detangled.
  • A dry shampoo called Dirty to Flirty.
  • 4 different leave in products- Smooth For Sure, Twice As Thick, Up For Air & Curls And Kisses= Smooth is a blowout cream, Thick is for thickening, Air is for air dry and Curls is a curling cream.
  • A root lifting spray called Vertical Volume.
  • A men's styling cream called Matte Made.
  • 4 different hairsprays- Style Stay (Firm), Flex Reflect (Lightweight), Workable Wear (Shaping) and Texture Takeover (Oomph enhancing).
  • They also sell brushes, makeup clutch's and a tote bag.
  • Then Jessie has her own hair perfume- 3 different ones- Sweet Magnolia, Honey Dew & Jessie- she also sells her own curling iron.

I seriously would not tell you about this product if I personally did not love it. I never promote things I don't like or don't use. With that said, I have used all the shampoos and conditioners and for my hair, Beyond Big shampoo and Repair It Right conditioner works best. I have also used Light As Air and Twice As Thick styling cream and I prefer the Thick one. But I put the Light as Air in Brody's hair and it's awesome! Their Texture Takeover hairspray is their best product. They sell big and little size bottles and I always go big.

Me before product: (if you look close in my drawer you can see the styling creams)

And me after product and styling:

My hair holds for days. I just love how healthy it is without having to spend a fortune. For now, you can only by online but they are really good about shipping and getting the product to you fast. If you are having problems with your hair, or just want an awesome product that is safe and good for you, go with Fave4! I promise you won't be disappointed!

The Little Gym

Last Tuesday night, we took Brody to this place called The Little Gym here in Mansfield. Bobby had done some research on it and thought Brody would like it. So we signed up for free class to see what it was all about.

Y'all......it's the best place ever. He can run around, he can flip around, he can explore, he can social interact with other kids. It's a little kids gymnasium. Like bars, beams, rings, things to climb over and under. They sing songs, play gym games, play with bouncy balls, blow bubbles, they teach them things. Brody can almost do a forward roll by himself and he's only gone to 3 classes plus time there with Santa. He is in the bird class which is 4 months to 19 months old. It's a time for him to be able to run around and be free. The floor is bouncy so when he falls, he just gets right back up.
The best part so far of him going...: he use to be scared to death to go through something. Like tubes or blow up things but now, he isn't! For some reason, that class was able to take that fear away from him.

Information:
  • Our class is $82 a month. You get a 1 hour class a week (multiple times and days to choose from) and then you can come to 2 "free" 30 minute classes/play time a week. So we go 3 times a week. That's 12 times a month roughly. That's $6.83 a class!
  • At the beginning of each class, they sing songs and do different introduction activities. Then they are allowed to go play. During the play time, we are to encourage them and help them. They have a lesson each time (like over and under) and we are to help them explore that lesson. Last Tuesday they gave us a pool noodle and we were to teach Brody to go over the noodle by doing a somersault. We repeated this few times and now he tries it himself. It amazes how quick they pick up something!
  • We take off our shoes and either go barefooted or with socks.
  • If for some reason you can't complete your 1 hour class for some reason, they will refund the value of the class as long as you tell them in advance. You can't miss one day and then let them know.
  • You are also allowed to make up days. For instance, if Brody is sick that Wednesday class we signed up for, I can let them know and we can come to the Friday morning class instead!
  • The age groups are as follow: 4 months to 19 months (4 to 10 months is one class, 10 months to 19 months in another), 19 months to 3 years (19 months to 2 & 1/2 years in one class, 2 & 1/2 to 3 years in another), 3 to 4 years, 4 to 6 years (4 to 5 in one class, 5 to 6 in another), & 6 to 12 years. And they don't have just gym time classes. They offer more elite classes to ages 19 months and older.

I took a lot of photos of him playing so you can see just how awesome this place is!

Brody and I would love to see you in our class!!!!
