Vegas, Day 1

So they say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. But I've never liked that rule. It's what happens in Vegas, happens in Vegas and ends up on my blog the next week. Luckily the group of friends we went with aren't the 'let's go get messed up at a nightclub and stroll in a 5am' crew. They are more of the 'let's gamble, drink, eat, hang out and sleep' crew. Which for someone like me, is the best. Bobby, myself, Billy, Kristen, Broc, Julie and Josh all went. The girls turned 30 this year so we thought it would be fun to take a trip somewhere for it. Kristen turned 30 in May, I turned 30 in June and Julie turns 30 this month. But because I was pregnant and then just had a newborn, December seemed like the perfect month to go.

So Vegas.....the boys and Kristen love to gamble. The boys sit at this one roulette machine for hours and Kristen likes to walk around playing slots. And let me tell you, that girl is good. Maybe it's because I am her good luck charm but whatever it is, she has it down to a science. Julie and I don't gamble. I don't see the point in losing money on nothing. Yes, I understand the reward if you win. But I would rather take a $100 and buy a pair of shoes then take the chance of losing it to a machine. Julie is the same way. That doesn't mean I don't like watching people play. I followed Kristen around like a puppy dog. Got my free drinks and just watched her. On Saturday alone, we walked over 10 miles! I also ate really good food. You can find amazing food in Vegas! Like some of the best places to eat.

Because there is a lot, I am going to do this post over the next 2 days and then tell you all about my 30 in 30 experiences on Friday.

Our flight was at 10:30am so we landed in Vegas around 11:40am with the time change. Got to the hotel, Planet Hollywood, around noon, got our room and headed on up. We had an amazing view! We could see the Bellagio sign and the left hand side of the fountains. We were also looking at the mountains, The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Aria Hotel.

In the middle of Planet Hollywood is this large crystal ball. It constantly changes colors. I couldn't help but take photos of it. Also, when you are in the lobby, they have these gorgeous crystal hanging lights that outline the escalator up to the casino.

We changed our clothes and headed down to meet everyone. B and I were the last to arrive so all of them had already started gambling. I was starving so the girls decided to go get a drink and some food. At Planet Hollywood, there is this pizza place called Pin Up Pizza. Y'all.....the largest slice of pizza you will ever see and one of the BEST slices of pizza you will ever eat. I ate there twice! The girls dress up like Pin Up dolls. Kristen and Julie had discovered this awesome Candy store called Sugar Factory. Not only did they sell candy but they sold adult beverages that had candy in them! Kris got the fish bowl glass with Strawberry Lemonade that had gummy bears in it. I don't remember the liquor, but it had a lot of shots to it.

Then we went back to the guys and Kristen wanted to gamble. So Julie stayed with the boys and Kris and I went walking around so she could gamble. After about an hour or so, we met back up with everyone and decided we wanted to go out and get dinner somewhere. So we all went back up to the room and changed and made our way to the strip. Vegas at night is so pretty. Like seriously, so gorgeous.

We ended up at Paris and went to this burger place called Burger Brasserie. I got the Italian burger. I kid you not, in my top 10 favorite burgers of all time. It came with arugula, mozzarella and pancetta. Then B and I split an order of waffle fries that were sprinkled with Cheetos powder!

Not to brag, but we are a good looking group!

Then we made our way back to the casino, all of them gambled a little more and then we called it a night. So you must know something, I have not slept through the night since I was about 20 weeks pregnant. Either due to peeing in the middle of the night or getting up with Brody. Like I said, this was my first time away from him and I do all the night time stuff. So for the first time in 9 months, I slept. And I slept hard, I don't think I woke till close to 10am. I love my baby but I love sleep!

Stay tuned to tomorrow for day 2 and day 4 of Vegas and don't forget to visit my blog on Friday for a 30 in 30!
