Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and auld lang syne?

I hope 2016 brings you everything you want. I hope it brings you joy and friendship and if you are expecting; a beautiful, healthy baby like 2015 brought me. I don't know how 2016 can top 2015 for me, but with my 2 men by my side, I am taking it on!

21 weeks

How old? 21 weeks and 1 day

Likes? His new Sophie the giraffe he got for Christmas.

Hates? When we ignore him. He is starting this separation anxiety thing. I know it's a phase he is just going through, all babies do, but it is wearin me out.

Milestones this week? He can kind of walk in his walker. Bobby sat on the floor and pushed him back and started talking to him and he used his little chubby feet to inch himself forward. Took like 2 mins to go like 10 feet, but still.....we were so proud of him.

Sleeping? Over the holiday it was hard keeping him on a schedule, except at night. He napped on me most of the time. I love it. He nestles himself in my neck when he's tired and it doesn't take long for him to fall asleep on me. I just pat his back and hold him tight and he's golden.

Eating? He loves his cereal. He eats better at night. He's going through this phase were he wants cereal over his bottle. He will take like 2 or 3 oz of his bottle and decide he is done. So I finally cut his cereal back because his formula is more important for him to take in then cereal.

Happy Birthday to my number 1 man

Happy Birthday baby.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love you. You are everything to me. You love me for me, you never try to change me, you tell me how great of a women I am, you compliment me, hold me, make me laugh constantly. Because of you and our God, I have Brody. You are an incredible dad and husband. You are a brother, a friend, an uncle, a son and you make sure you are the best at being all of them. I love how Brody loves you. You make him smile constantly by your singing and funny faces. You take care of us, we never want for anything. I love how you still look at me like I am the only one in the room. I know you aren't a fan of your birthday, so I will make a big deal out of it for you. I love you to no end and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Thank You

I can't believe Christmas came and went like that. I went to sleep Wednesday night and woke up Sunday morning, That's how fast it went. I took a lot of photos over the holiday and plan on sharing those with you next week.

As for today, today is dedicated to my wonderful sister. Today is her last day with Brody. My mom starts with him next week and I am taking the rest of the week off. I can't believe how fast these almost 3 months have gone. She started keeping him October 5th, and it's almost the New Year. I looked back on all the photos she sent me and boy has he changed. Kara was very good about sending me photos during the day and letting me know how he was doing. They had good days and they had bad days. They had days where he slept amazing and days where he was up the whole time. She has seen the worst of him and the best.

I can't even begin to thank her for taking these 2 days a week to keep him. I know Hayden is probably going to miss him more than Kara. I hate to think of Hayden not getting his Brobee time but my mom has made sure to let us all know that she is going to meet up with Kara and Hayden for play dates. I want Hayden and Brody close, they aren't too far apart in age (22 months) so for them to have a great friendship, I can only pray for.

Thank you Kara, for everything! Brody loves you so much :)

Fun Wrapping Ideas

I can't believe Christmas is on Friday! Like where has time gone. B and I finished up shopping over the weekend so now everything is in our guest room, unwrapped. Looks like it will be a 10pm wrap marathon for myself. I usually love wrapping gifts. I find the joy in it and the artistry to it. But this year, I am not looking forward to it. Maybe because by 9pm I am exhausted and it's the last thing I want to do. Maybe because I don't know where to start and I'm afraid I am out of some things and gonna have to load Brody up to go to the store to get stuff. Which if I didn't have Brody, I could just go myself and be home in like 10 minutes. But it takes like 10 minutes alone just to load him and unload him. I know the wrapping has to get done, I have no excuses to show up to people's homes with unwrapped gifts or presents stuck in old sacks with bad tissue paper.
A lot of my wrapping inspirations comes from Pinterest. And you might be thinking.....Pinterest fail because nothing ever comes out as good as it looks on there but when it comes to wrapping, you really can't go wrong. Unless you are my husband and are the worst wrapper in the world. The boy tries, he really does. He just gets bored after one and they end up looking like a 4 year old did it. (Love you hunny)
I found what was in this year for wrapping. Whites, Blacks and Browns. As for wrapping paper. The simplest wrapping paper can almost be the most prettiest and classy. You can draw on them, add any color bow to them or just simply put a To/From sticker and go on your way. But under the tree, they look really pretty.
And if you are anything like me, you wrap the night before! So for you procrastinators like me....here you go!

Last year, I did chalkboard paper for the kiddos and loved every minute of it. It is a little hard to wrap with because it's so thick but drawing them pictures was so much fun. I don't know if I will have time this year to do it but if I don't, simply writing their name really cool will work for me.

This is a really cute idea if you have a patient baby or child. Using their fingerprints as lights. I even saw one where they used the fingerprint as Rudolph's nose. I may do this for the grandparents this year but it may be his handprint or just one finger. We will see.

Cardboard looks really clean and nice and you can decorate it almost anyway you like. Instead of the wording they used, you can write the person's name. And who doesn't have twigs and leaves in their backyard. You can even use liquid chalk on cardboard paper.

Don't have all that time (like me this year). Then invest in some really pretty To/From tags. It will at least give your gift something different. And use pretty string. That can also make a world of difference. Twine is really cheap at Michael's (just saying).

White paper.....I would have never thought about using white paper but I am so in love with it this season. It is so pretty. If you have kids, you can even have them color on it for some decoration. Pull them away from the TV and have them decorate them for everyone. I love the idea of adding Crayons and letting the kiddos you give it to color on it for themselves.

This was my creation last year. I can't make any promises about me doing this again this year so I hope the kiddos aren't disappointed in their Aunt Dani. Batman face was my favorite.

20 weeks

How old? 20 weeks

Likes? To eat, to drink water when he eats (just a little, enough to wash down the food), Dash

Hates? Being told Bye.....Bobby made the mistake of saying bye to him when he dropped him off at his mom's house for a few hours and he lost his s**t. He is understanding what it means and hates it.

Milestones this week? He has found his feet and loves them. He gnaws on his toes none stop. Anytime he is laying down, he brings his feet up to hold on to them.

Sleeping? He is doing really good at night. I only wake up with him once and he goes back down after his bottle. Naps are another story but we are working on it. His doctor said there are some babies out there who just don't nap. She thinks he is still uncomfortable because of his acid reflux so we have switched medications again and I pray it works better for him.

Eating? He loves rice and oatmeal. But wheat.....seems to be giving him some trouble. Doctor wanted me to try all the different kinds of grains to see how he did on them. Wheat is the only one that seems to give him troubles. He is really gassy and poops like 3 times a day. She said to try it for 5 days, that sometimes the system needs a few days to adjust but I have a feeling this kid may have a wheat allergy like myself. I pray not, it's hard to maintain and watch, and with him already have to drink soy at the moment (she thinks he will grow out of it) I just don't want him to have to deal with any other issues.

Happy Birthday Tim

Happy Birthday to my very funny brother in law, Tim.

Words cannot even begin to describe how much I love this man. I have known Tim since I was in Junior High, over half of my life. He's funny, sarcastic, down to earth and keeps my sister sane. There is no one else in the world for her than him. Tim has lost a lot of weight this year. He has worked really hard and looks so good. Everytime I see him, it reminds me of high school Tim and I fall in love with him all over again. I thank God for him and the calmness and level headedness he brings to my family.
I mean come on.....look at him. Doesn't he look AMAZING!

Happy Birthday Tim. I know you may never see this but just know I love you so much and I hope you have a wonderful birthday. I am so proud of you and all you have accomplished this year. Thank you for taking care of my sister and Landry and Hayden. We are all better people because you are in our lives. I love you!

Daddy's girls

Last night my dad, my sister, Landry and I had our annual father/daughter dinner and go Christmas shopping for my mom night! No boys allowed....except this year we had to make an exception because Bobby had a work dinner he could not get out of and I had no one to watch Brody. So little B got to go. This is our 19th year to do this. Mom goes to dinner with us and then heads on home. It was much easier when we all lived at home and could just hop in the car. But now we all come from different directions. It's life I know but sometimes I just want the simple back.

We went to this place at Northeast Mall called Bar Louie. Had an awesome happy hour and really good food. All Landry wanted to do was be with Brody. She wanted to help with everything she could. Even to the point of helping me change his poopy diaper in the bathroom stall! Then she sang to him and taught him his ABC's and to count to 10. If this girl doesn't grow up to be a teacher, I will be shocked!

Thank you Landry for keeping Brody entertained last night.

And thank you Dad for a wonderful night! I know how much you love being with your girls. Your girls love you too!!!!

Prairie Lights

On Sunday night, the Lewis family decided to go to the Prairie Light's in Grand Prairie. This is my second year to do it. Last year on this same day, we told the Lewis side that we were pregnant! And now my little munchkin was in the car with me but outside of the womb. He slept the whole time we drove through but it was alright cause he was quiet, warm and content.

I love looking at Christmas lights. It's just so beautiful. This year only about 75% of the lights were open because of the all the rain we have had this year. It flooded the area and they were only able to open so much. So it was a quicker tour but just as pretty. There was one time on the path where you could see how high the water had gotten.

About 3/4 into the tour, you end up at this play area where you can get food, warm drinks and they have a carousel and some sort of ride for the kids. Normally it is packed and takes forever for them to ride, but not this year. It was super cold though so I had Brody in the baby bjorn, wrapped up in a blanket. Angie did the same for Jace. This year we did the Holiday Magic Lighted Walk-Thru Forest. It was so pretty. We even got a family picture taken, which is never done!

Then at the end, you go through this really cool tunnel of lights. It's so amazing and it's the best part of it all.

Next year, if the Prairie Lights are open, we have decided to get a limo and do this. And then maybe go look at Christmas lights afterwards. So we can all ride together, have some cocktails and let the kids have some fun. Can't wait!!!!
