The Walking Dead Monday

Reviewing: TWD: Season 8: Episode 2: The Damned

SPOILERS AHEAD. Some of the bullet points might give things away so please STOP reading if you don't want to know anything. Also, the bullet points are written in the order of how the show went.

  • When the episode first started, I was confused as to what was happening. It seemed Ezekiel and Carol got bombarded by someone. A group of Saviors was getting attacked by Rick's crew, lead by Aaron. Rick, Daryl and few others were searching for guns in an abandoned place. Morgan, Tara, Jesus and a few others were trying to get into a compound we've seen before surrounded by walkers.
  • Jesus is so trustworthy. He needed to believe Tara on that man and then goes a get's himself almost killed.
  • Morgan getting shot at, almost gave me a heart attack. I love that man and would have been so pissed off if that's how they killed him. Ugh!
  • Ezekiel vs. Carol is a classic case of hope and reality. Carol is all about the bad that's going to happen and E is about the good. It's nice to see both sides talking to each other about it.
  • Rick and Daryl searching for the guns that Dwight lead them to was kind of slow to me. The only exciting part was when the man attacked Rick and it was a fight to the death. But we knew who was gonna win right? I kinda wanted Daryl to come riding in and save Rick but it didn't happen.
  • Morgan going on a killing spree to end up face to face with the guy that killed the kid he mentored to only get talked down by Jesus into not killing him. All because they surrendered. Rick isn't going to be happy about this, which is what Tara keeps telling Jesus but he is claiming that Maggie will understand.
  • After killing that man, Rick finds the thing he was protecting and it wasn't guns. It was a little girl named Gracie. So messed up.
  • I love Chiva! Best bad-ass assistant on TV. Makes me want a pet tiger :)
  • Aaron's boyfriend ends up getting shot by one of the Saviors and Aaron is last seen running him to safety.
  • At the very end of the episode, Rick gets held gun point by a familiar face, a guy named Morales. He is from season 1 and split with Rick's team when they decided to travel to the Centers for Disease Control and Morales stayed in Atlanta. He is on Negan's team and tells Rick that The Saviors are coming back.

Thoughts along the way:

  • I still don't understand the Polaroids they are taking. When Morgan is talking with Jesus at the end about not killing them since they surrendered, you can see a guy behind Morgan taking Polaroids.
  • This whole episode was super confusing to me. It wasn't until the end did I understand some of it and what was going on.
  • Morales calling the Saviors back....which Saviors? Coming back from where? Doesn't he know the main compound is infested by walkers? Doesn't he know that Negan is surrounded by walkers in a camper? Maybe it's a tacit to see what Rick will do.

Where does it go now:

  • I still have no idea where it is going to go. This episode was so confusing and just felt like a filler episode. And when there's a filler episode, it usually means a big episode is coming so I hope that happens for next week.
