The Walking Dead Monday

Another week. Another Walking Dead. Let's get to the review!

Reviewing TWD: Season 7: Episode 2: The Well

SPOILERS AHEAD. If you have not watched or don't want to know anything, STOP reading now.

With as big of an episode as last week was, I had read that this week was going to much tamer, much more easier to watch. I always like the big bold episodes but it's nice once and awhile to have an episode be easy, give information, maybe have no one die! So I was excited when I read that this one was going to be the complete opposite of last week.

Last week we had had no idea what had happened to Carol and Morgan and tonight's episode caught us up on that. It's starts out with 2 men in uniforms pulling a hurt Carol on a buggy attached to a horse. Morgan is also with them. They come across walkers and while Morgan and the men are killing them, Carol tries to escape and comes across a house where she thinks she sees a human but it turns out to be a walker. Carol is visualizing the walkers as real people. More people in uniforms come to save them and take them back to their village. ~ Morgan is sitting in with Carol when she wakes and he tells her she has been asleep for 2 days. She ask where they are and he takes her in a wheelchair to show her. He describes this place as The Kingdom. The people there seem very happy. Morgan takes Carol to see the main man and his name is King Ezekiel. King Ezekiel runs this place along side his pet Tiger named Chiva. When he speaks, he sounds like he is from another time. Like McBeth era. He tells her a little bit about this place and offers her a pomegranate to eat. She turns it down nicely.
Can we pause for a second. I have watching this show from the get-go. This is the old Carol. The Carol who had an abusive husband and said her yes's and no's nicely and graciously. She is so faking it to King E right now! Like I can see right through her cause I know her but he can't and I'm over here laughing.
Ok, back to it. Morgan brings her out and she turns back to the Carol I know. Describes it as a circus. She wants to leave but Morgan won't let her. He tells her that he won't let her die out there. ~ Ezekiel, Morgan and few other people leave the compound to go hunting with some pigs. The reason for the pigs is that they eat the dead. They load back up and one man takes the pigs somewhere else while everyone else heads back to the compound. Ezekiel wants to know how Morgan became good at using his staff he carries around and wants him to train a young man named Benjamin. Morgan agrees. ~ Carol decides to go around the town and as does, she starts to collect things, like a knife and some chocolate! She then talks to some people in her fake Carol accent so she can steal other things like clothes. ~ Morgan trains Ben and he seems to be good at it. Ezekiel then ask both Morgan and Ben to go along with him because they important business to attend to. They meet back up with that man who had the pigs and Ezekiel describes what he does. He slaughters the pigs far away from his town because the pigs squeal is too loud and will bring walkers around. Two vehicles pull up and men get out. Negan's men! The pigs are for them. Ezekiel is pleasant saying he follows the deal like he is asked and Negan's men are satisfied and take the pigs. A man from Negan's team and a man from the Ezekiel's team get into a fight and it's soon broken up. Everyone then leaves and Negan's men say they will be back next week for produce. ~ Benjamin and Morgan are seated around a lunch table and we learn that Ben is taking care of his little brother because his parents have died. Ezekiel and Ben's father were good friends. We also learn that Ezekiel has been keeping the Negan thing a secret to the people of The Kingdom because he is afraid if they found out, it would cause a war. ~ Morgan then takes dinner to Carol who isn't in her room. Carol has escaped her room and is wondering around in the dark when she comes across Ezekiel who calls her out. He tells her to drop the fake act and he knows she's been only acting like that to blend in. She then tells him his place is a joke and that he is selling those people a fairy tale. He explains that people want someone to follow, someone to help them feel safe. That they needed someone to lead them and he faked it till he made it. He also tells her how he got Chiva. He rescued her out a zoo and bandaged her leg and she became loyal to him. He ask her to not tell anyone and Carol tells him to do what he wants but she still wants to leave. He then tries to convinces her to not leave and leave. That she can have both. ~ We then see Morgan and Carol on horses outside of the house we saw earlier in the episode. It seems that Carol has decided to have it both ways. Morgan tells her to be careful and leaves. She then goes into the house to live. She hears a knock on the door and it Ezekiel and Chiva, with a pomegranate that he offered to her earlier.

Main points of this week's show:

  • Ezekiel's hair is awesome! I really hope they have flashbacks as to who he is and all of that. I know he describes a little bit of it but I would really love to see it, find out more.
  • The Kingdom has crops, animals, peace, hope, happiness, music, and cobbler at each meal!
  • If you want anyone on the outside/inside, you want it to be Carol. Having her life in that house just on the outside, being on guard like that is genius. Ezekiel doesn't know who she is or what she can do but I do and I say yeah to that idea!
  • The pigs eat the dead people and then Negan's people eat the pigs, who have dead walkers inside of them! It's gross and BRILLIANT! Mind blown.
  • I read some reviews that say The Kingdom isn't what it seems. Hoping more to come on this and why it isn't.
  • Ezekiel's right hand man Jerry is one of my new favorite people! I hope he's in it a lot!
  • I felt like this episode was a really good jumping off point for things to come. They gave you just enough information to not overload you but you keep you curious.
  • This episode also showed me just how large Negan's crew is and how far his reach is and how many people he has under his bat. He is going to be one tough man to take down....if that's where TWD takes this.
  • Morgan and Carol have no idea what has happened to Rick's crew and it makes me sad again thinking about Abraham and Glenn's deaths from last week.
  • Next week seems to be all about Daryl! THANK YOU!

Feel free to leave comments, thoughts and/or ideas on what you liked, loved. hated or think might happen!

Five on Friday

This week I posted this photo to The Adventures of Brody and Bullet on Instagram and not only did it get many likes (how could it not) but many of you asked me where I got his shirt from. Emerald Sky is my jam y'all. The most comfy shirts in the world and the best quality. They take great pride in making sure every shirt sent out is good quality. And the best part, they are affordable and the shirts last, even after milk and dirt and pizza sauce have been spilt on them and then washed over and over again. It's like the shirt keeps getting softer and softer the more it's washed. Every where Brody or I go, we get asked about our shirts.

two. Chip's Ahoy! Thins
A couple of weeks ago I featured Oreo thins. Well this week at the store we found Chips Ahoy! Thins and boy do we love them. What I love about them besides the taste is that I can just hand Brody one and he can just munch on it. I don't feel like I have to monitor every bite because it's so thin, he can just bite it off and eat it with ease. They come in original chocolate chip and cinnamon sugar.

three. Halloween candy
If you are a procrastinator like myself, you wait to the last minute to get candy for Halloween. Luckily for me, I have the Target Cartwheel app. And on this app, not only do I have a coupon for $2 off of 2 bags of candy, they also have 10% here, 15% there on almost all of their candy. Candy can get expensive so I am glad they have most of the stuff I buy at a discount for me. Download the Target Cartwheel app (it's free) and then go to the Halloween section they have on the app and you will see all the discounts I am talking about. I will tell you though, most of the candy expires today for the discount so don't delay. Even this procrastinator is headed to Target after I post this blog!

four. Chewy
I buy premium dog food. I make sure the food my dogs eat is the best quality for their systems. Those really large dog food brands that sale their food for super cheap, I just don't see how they are still in business when so many dogs get sick off of their food. Anyways. Since I buy premium dog food, I do like to shop around to make sure I buy it at the lowest cost I can find. Chewy has the biggest selection and the cheapest price for that selection. I have been buying their food from Chewy for years now. Fast shipping, free shipping over $50 and I can order food and treats all in one sitting. They even have autoshipping where you make a profile and add the food you want your dog to have and it will automatically ship it to you based off the number of weeks you will need it. And they give you a 15% discount for using that option. They also have cat, bird, fish, small pet (like rabbit, hamster, etc.) and reptile food as well.

five. Reading Books
I am a huge book lover. I have been my whole life. I could read for hours and hours. I get it from my mother who got it from her mother. Well, I love that my child gets it from me. He loves books. He does have a short attention span when it comes to them (like he likes me to read like 3 or 4 pages in one book and then move on to the next) but we could sit in his tee-pee forever, reading books over and over again. Before his nap we read and before bedtime we read.

November 8th

Dear Diary,

Election Day is close. Super close. November 8th to be exact. On that day, someone new takes over. Last night, Bobby and I were laying in bed discussing our choices.

Now, I told you awhile back that I wouldn't be telling you my opinions on this election. And I am going to stay true to myself to a certain extent but I am going to discuss a choice we all make in the next 13 days and what my choice is.

In the next 13 days, we must make a decision based off who we like best. Who we feel would be best for this country. Who we want to back for 4 years. We have heard the debates. We have heard both sides. We have seen both of them rip each other to shreds and do it like it's just another day in their lives.

Maybe you have already made up your mind. Maybe you have already voted. Maybe you are on the fence because you still just don't know. Whatever you decide to do, it is your right, it is your choice. Vote for who you believe in. Vote for who's policies work best for your family. Don't go based off parties...that is so old fashion. Vote based on the person.

I will tell you this about me and this election and yell and scream at me all you want but it is my choice, my decision. I will NOT be voting this year. I do NOT like either one. I refuse to give my vote to an individual I do NOT believe in. I am scared for this county and I have no idea what is going to happen. I REFUSE to vote for a man who belittles people and who bullies them. I REFUSE to vote for a women who lies and back tracks all the time.

And I know what your all thinking. It is my right to vote. It is my right to do my part. And you would be correct. But isn't it also my right to not? I would rather not vote for either, than randomly pick someone because everyone is telling me to.

On November 8th, I will be watching from my television as with the rest of you. And I will have no choice but to accept whoever wins as my President. I will not bash either. I will not say yay or nay. Because I choose to not vote, I will respect the future President.

Rather you agree with me or not, or seriously are pissed off....I understand. But please don't bash me for my decision or try to change my way of thinking. I will respect what you do and who you choose and will actually applaud you for being able to make up your mind in such a messed up Presidential race.

So decide to "Make America Great Again" or you choose "I'm With Her" or pick neither and run off to Canada and live there the next 4 years, just choose it based off what you want. Not what other people tell you must do.

30 in 3(1): 24: Go On A Wine Tour

Ok...so confession. I have been to many wineries and I even got the opportunity to go to wineries in France (oooh la la) but I have never paid money for someone else to drive me and decide where I go so I thought it would be a lot of fun to do something like that on our adult weekend away.

So here we are: 30 in 3(1): number 24: Go On A Wine Tour

This was the first thing that we discussed when we all decided to go to San Antonio. Fredericksburg is super close and they have incredible Texas wine. But it wasn't until the week of did anything get planned. Luckily my mom and her dad and sister had used a certain company before and loved it so we went with the same company, Cottonwood Wine Tours. We decided on the tour that picked us up from our hotel, took us to two different wineries, dropped us off in downtown Fredericksburg for lunch and then brought us back home.

I was stuck in the back between 2 blondes and couldn't be more happier!

Our bus and inside the bus. After that first glass of wine, everyone starts talking more and you meet some really nice people.

Our first stop was Sister Creek Vineyards. Their wines aren't bad. If I am being honest, my least favorite of the day.

 My handsome daddy!

The next stop on our tour was Four Point O. AMAZING wine! Oh my goodness. You must visit this place if you come to Fredericksburg.

After that they took us into town and we had lunch at this place called Tubby's Ice House. It was an outdoor place and the food was delicious.

We decided to go to one more winery that was in town since we had some time left over before the bus picked us up. We chose Grape Creek Winery and guys, again, their wines are amazing. You must visit.

A selfie on our way back because why......everyone else on the bus was asleep!

I had such a great time and Cottonwood took very good care of us. I highly recommend them and they have a bunch of different ones you can chose from depending on what you would like to do, including some that take you to breweries, whiskey places and moonshine!
It's a good thing we stuck to wine because who knows how many more selfies there would have been : )

#adultsonlyweekend

Over the weekend, my Mom, my Dad, my sister, her husband Tim and my handsome husband Bobby went to San Antonio for an adults only weekend. We weren't able to take a family vacation this year with my side of the family so we decided this would be a fun alternative. Even though the grand babies stayed at home, I think my parents were ok it just being the big kids.

We left early Friday morning and came back Sunday afternoon. You will notice in this blog that almost all of Saturday is not on here. That blog will be tomorrow because it is a 30 in 3(1). And almost all the pictures I took were of food! All it seemed we did was eat and drink wine and it was the best adult weekend ever!

On Friday, our first stop was to Buc-ee's because how are you not going to stop! We finally made it to Austin and my sister had found a Diner's, Drive-In's and Dives place she had wanted to try. Casino el Camino and boy was it delicious. I got a chili cheese hotdog and my sister got the LA Burger. They are known for their burgers and verde fries so of course B and I got their verde fries. Then we hoped back in the car and headed into San Antonio. We checked in, unpacked and got ready to head out for dinner. My girl Jasmine told me of this awesome outdoor area called La Canterra and it was the prettiest place. We ate dinner there both nights because they had restaurants you can't find in Dallas. The first night we ate at was Yard House and everything I ate there was incredible. Ahi Poke, Kale Caeser, Pepperoni and mushroom pizza, S'more brownie and of course Rose wine to drink.

Saturday night we ate at a place called Whiskey Cake. Bobby and I got their deviled eggs, then I got Mussels (I do realize I spelt it wrong on my picture but in my defense I had a lot of wine that day!), adult Mac n Chz and then we got 2 desserts. Their Whiskey Cake which is what the resturant is named after and their pumpkin croissant bread pudding that was their speical that week. Oh and Rose to drink.

What a great weekend. What a great time with my family. I love being with them and spending time together. It just brings me back to Earth. They make me laugh, they make me smile and we always have a good time! I got lots of sleep, lots to eat and lots of wine and lots of family time! #blessed

Stay tuned to tomorrow for my wine tour adventure!

The Walking Dead Monday

I am starting a new segment called The Walking Dead Monday where I go over Sunday night's Walking Dead episode. The Walking Dead is one of my favorite shows and I always seem the need to talk about it because so much goes on so I thought why not make a blog about it weekly.

Let's get to it.
Reviewing TWD: Season 7: Episode 1: The Day Will Come When You Won't Be

First off....SPOILERS AHEAD. If you have not watched and don't want to know anything, STOP reading right now.

Second off....THANK YOU FOR NOT KILLING DARYL! I was literally sick up to the point of last night's episode. Ask my husband. I didn't want dinner cause I had this uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach of who was going to be killed off. And how were they going to show it.

I had read so many articles over the past 6 months of who it was going to be. People who analyzed that last minute of the season finale for any clues on who it might be. Going into last night's episode, the speculation was that it was going to be either Glenn (since that's who Negan kills in the comics), Maggie (because she was already so sick and people had seen her traveling around the world and not on set) or Abraham (because his "red hair" was suddenly not red anymore).

I told Bobby if it was Maggie, I was going to be in the bathroom throwing up. She's PREGNANT and super sick on top of it all! If you have never been pregnant before, you might not understand the horrid feeling that runs through your body. I also told Bobby if it was Daryl, he will be watching it by himself from now on. I wouldn't watch it anymore. I would be so upset, so sick, that it would turn me off from it.

So before I go over who he killed, let's start at he beginning of the episode and work our way to the end. I'm not going to go into every detail of every scene, just the important parts of each episode or we would be here all day reading. Except last night's episode. It was to big to skip any details.

It picks up where we left off. Well kinda. You see the aftermath of Negan's kill but you don't see who he kills just yet. He is in Rick's face and Rick say's the line of the year. "I'm going to kill you. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But one day, I will kill you." That is exactly how I felt too about Negan. Negan decides to take Rick on a drive to show him who is boss. See up until this point, Rick has always been in charge. He's always called the shots but with Negan, it doesn't work that way. And Negan needed Rick to understand that because of the way Rick was looking at him. Instead of out of fear or in the way Negan wanted him too, Rick was looking at him like he was going to kill him. Negan takes Rick's axe and throws it out of the van and tells Rick to go get it. So Rick must fight off dead people in order to fetch the axe. It's then he crawls up to the top of the van and he remembers the last hour of his life. We learn then that it is Abraham who gets the end of Lucille and is beaten to a pulp. (It was so nasty). Negan then turns the bat to Rosita and demands her to look at the bat. When Negan starts to yell at Rosita, Daryl swoops in and punches Negan. I about lost my s**t because Negan's men grabbed him and held him down and I just knew something was going to happen to him. But instead, Negan made it seem like he was going to need Daryl for something. Negan then turns to the group and says that the first one was free, and this one was going to cost them. At this moment in time, I had this feeling he was going to turn Lucille on someone else. And I was right. Glenn. And if you follow the comics, it is Glenn who gets killed by Negan so for them to keep that part right, I was pleased with. It was what Glenn said to Maggie that had me in tears. "Maggie, I'll find you" and all she could do was watch the man she loves get beaten to death where at one point his eye popped out of his head (cue my vomit sounds). After all of this, the scene changes back to Rick on top of the van and Negan is yelling at him to bring him his axe. Then Rick must fight off some more dead people to finally get back into the van. But you can still tell Rick isn't understanding who Negan actually is. He drives them back to the camp where everyone is waiting and just when you think it's over, Negan came super close to making Rick cut his own son's (Carl) arm off! It was in this moment, Rick finally understands who Negan is and it pleases Negan. They are all left with the van and a promise from Negan he will be back in a week with demands. It is then Maggie gets up and tries her hardest to get to Glenn's body. She then tells the group that she must go after Negan, even if it kills her. Rick is the one who tries to tell her no. But she won't listen to him and it is Sasha who says she will go with her and take care of her. It ends with Rick driving off in the bus thinking on a memory of all his friends and family sitting down together, having a meal with Glenn and Abraham sitting at the end of the table and Glenn is holding his and Maggie's child. That made me tear up.

Main points of this weeks show:
  • Rick is no longer in charge and throughout the rest of the season we will have to see the man we have all come to rely on, be taken down over and over again in order to keep his people alive.
  • Maggie is going to step up in a big way and take Glenn's death and make it into something. We are going to see a big change in Maggie, which I am excited about.
  • Jeffrey Dean Morgan is no longer Denny to me! He is now Negan and I hate/love him.
  • Carl became last nights Hero when he told his dad, who was refusing to cut off his arm, to just do it. He knew everyone had a gun to their head and if his dad didn't, they would all die. Big step up for Carl!
  • Daryl is going to have this constant guilt on him about Glenn's death, since it was Daryl who punched Negan who then turned his bat Lucille on Glenn because of it.
  • Glenn's last words were, "Maggie, I'll find you". Abrahams last words were, "Suck my nuts".
  • Negan makes The Governor look like a baby panda.
  • We still don't know what came of Morgan and Carol but next episode brings us up to par on them.

I am going to miss Glenn and Abraham. Glenn Rhee was the heart of the show and Abraham Ford was the big red headed burley man you always wanted on your side. Steven Yeun and Michael Cudlitz will be very hard to replace and for a while it's going to feel like a hole is missing.

Feel free to chime in on your thoughts, feelings, etc. I don't always catch everything and sometimes there are Easter Eggs thrown in so feel free to tell me or correct me if something I wrote is wrong!
I am just going based of what I saw and felt so you won't hurt my feelings if you don't agree. : )

Green Meadows

Dear Diary,

Every year for the past couple of years the Lewis family has gone to the pumpkin patch at Green Meadows. Not only is it a pumpkin patch, it is a petting farm too. This year was by far my favorite because I got to see it through Brody's eyes. One thing you need to know is that Brody LOVES animals. Like if there was a dog at one side and momma on the other, momma would lose every time. So he was in heaven.
I took a lot of pictures so let's get to it.

I love this Lewis family of mine

Love, Me

I hope you all have a great weekend. I won't be blogging tomorrow due to my weekend away but I will back on Monday.
