Five on Friday- Mexico addition

one.
This man. My husband. Lord knows I don't deserve him sometimes. There is something about this picture I just love. The scenery. His body. Him. Mexico.

two.
Ok....so I decided on this picture for one of my 5's because I have been working really hard to get back in shape and I looked in the mirror and felt good about my body. I love that I am seeing results from my Swink Sweat class and eating better.

three.
On our trip, we celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary. 5 years I have had the privielge to call myself his wife. It hasn't always been easy but that doesn't matter. I love him beyond this world and I thank God everyday I have him.

four.
Kiss Kiss

five.
The morning we left, when B and I went for a walk the sun was coming up just right so I snapped this. No filter. Just God's hand. I wanna get this photo blown up and put it someone where in my home. It's a great reminder of my days with Bobby here.

Stay tuned to Monday where I will tell you all about B and I's Mexican getaway! It was so much fun!

30 in 3(1): 22 and 23: Play a game I've never played and Play a drinking game

Dear Diary,

When we figured out where we were going for our anniversary, I knew there were going to be things at the resort I would be able to do for my 30 in 30.
Ok so for the record, I am 31. So my future 30 in 30 post will look like this: 30 in 3(1), where the 1 looks like a 0 but techniqually it's 31.
Once we actually got there, we learned that all of the "things to do" were off property and neither one of us felt comfortable enough venturing into town to do these things. So needless to say, I didn't get as much accomplished as I would have liked.

So here we are: 30 in 3(1): number 22: Play a game I've never played before

Before we left, Bobby was telling me about this game he saw online where someone had combined soccer with pool. He said it looked like so much fun but didn't know where we could find it. At the resort, sure enough, they had one! So one morning, on our way to the beach, we stopped and played. It was so much fun but super hard. The rules are the same as for pool. But you use your feet like you would in soccer. This is my new favorite game. I asked Bobby if there was a way to build this at home and we are looking into it. I was winning but I ended up losing. I was down to one ball forever. But he got lucky and sunk his last one in and then the 8 ball was set up perfectly.

Later that evening when we were hanging out in the bar, we decided to play another game.

So here we are: 30 in 3(1): number 23: Play a drinking game

If you know anything about me, you know I don't step outside of my box. I stick to what I like and I don't venture out, especially in food and drinks. But this one night, I decided it would be fun to grab their drink menu and play a game. Bobby had the menu and started flipping through the pages. I closed my eyes and randomly told him to stop. Then I picked either left side or right side and then he put my finger on that page and I randomly chose. Then he played it! Whatever we landed on we had to drink. I landed on a Lychee Martini and he landed on a French Martini.

Neither one of them were good. They both were awful to be honest. His was worse than mine. It reminded me of why I never just pick something random to drink.

Thank You

We made it back safe and sound from our Mexico trip. We had so much fun and I do plan on telling you all about it but today I have so much laundry, TV and snuggling with my bambino to do that this will be a very short blog post.

I do want to Thank my mom and dad for keeping Brody, especially my mom. She didn't hesitate when we asked her a couple of months back to come keep him for that long. In fact, when I stepped foot back into my home she asked me when B and I would be going on our next trip so she could come stay with him. Dad came Friday afternoon and stayed till Sunday afternoon. He claims she does everything, he just gets to play but I know he helps in any way possible. I couldn't have asked for better babysitters.

Just so you know how much my mom and Brody love each other, he cried when she told him bye yesterday. He didn't want her to leave! It was so sweet and so sad at the same time!

Dad sent me this sweet photo of him and her reading before bed one night. It just screams my mother to me. With her grandbaby, on the floor, inside a teepee, reading books to him. I will cherish it forever.

Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you both so very much for keeping my boo for me. Knowing he was taken care of, knowing he was being loved on and played with and laughing just made my time away easier. I never worried, I never wondered, I was able to relax. I love you both so very much!

Now don't get me wrong, Bobby and I talked about Brody like every other hour but when you have something that is your favorite in common, you tend to talk about it a lot!

Sleep, drink, eat...repeat!

Y'all....

I am on cloud nine right now.

Bobby and I leave in the morning for Mexico.

And all-inclusive getaway to Playa Del Carmen!

Our 5 year wedding anniversary is this weekend and we thought what better excuse to get away, just us two!

We've had a few date nights since Brody and have taken one trip without him but for the most part, he is with me/us 24/7.

Now...I love my child. Beyond anything else in this world. But momma needs a break and momma needs alone time with her hubby.

So I will be back to blogging next Tuesday!!!!!

If you need me, Sorry! Unless you are my parents who are staying with my kiddo or Jesus Christ, I will not be answering my phone or email.

You can follow me on Instagram ( dani_lynn_lewis ) to keep up with our adventures in Mexico! It's going to be so much fun.

13 months old

On Sunday, Brody turned 13 months. He is 32 inches tall and weighs 27.9 pounds. He is into everything. He is fully walking and is actually starting to run everywhere. He is as crazy as can be but I am loving every minute. He has mastered the fake cry and does it on cue. His appetite has slowed some but is he still a very good eater.
He can say: Mom, Momma, Ball, Bull, Block, Bubble, Book, Bullet and Pop. On occasions he can say: Kiki, Mimi and Dada. He is learning how take a command and do it. Like, "Brody, bring me your blanket." and he go do it.
He has 10 teeth now and 3 more on the way. He is still on the bottle but he is taking half milk/half formula. Because of his acid reflux, we are slowly adding milk but so far he is doing good. I have tried milk/formula in a sippy cup and he doesn't like it so we are waiting on that, per his doctors advise. He will take anything else in a sippy cup, just not the milk/formula mixture. He still takes his acid reflux medicine and will till he is 15 months, then we will try him without it.

He just makes us so happy. His personality is huge and he makes me laugh on a daily basis. He loves getting a laugh too. He is just so much fun and I can never imagine my life without him.

Five on Friday

one. Love....just per love.
These two have nothing but love for each other. No matter how many times Brody steps on him, lays on him, pokes him, messes with him, Bullet loves him. And napping together is just a cherry on top!

two. The new Instagram video
I am so in love with the new feature on Instagram. I love that I can take a video, post it and 24 hours later its gone. It's like snapchat but better! You get a glimpse into peoples lives. I feel so much closer to my celebrity friends :-)

three. Tony Romo is out
Can y'all believe it? Out for 8-10 weeks because of a broken bone in his back. I don't care though. I will still be rooting for my boys. I will still be watching. Because football is won by a team, not a player. And I am so excited because I found my new Cowboys hat and I got it just in time!

four. PSL
Yes, I know I talked about pumpkin last week but this is different. PSL is my favorite thing! I will probably have more than I care to admit this season. For those of you living under a rock. PSL is Pumpkin Spiced Latte and Starbucks has even created their own Instagram account for them. Yes I follow it and no I don't care if you make fun. If it wasn't frowned upon to give kids coffee, Brody would be trying it this year. Don't judge!

five. Rash
Wednesday afternoon, I noticed Brody had a small rash on his thighs. Looked like a heat rash so I didn't think anymore of it. After I got home from CrossFit and I went to bathe him, I noticed it had spread more. When I got him Thursday morning, he was covered! My first thought was chicken pox because of how fast it spread. So I made a quick call to the doctor and got us in. Good news: not chicken pox. Bad news: Brody has had an allergic reaction to a shot he got at his 12 month check-up. And yes, his 12 month check up was 22 days ago but there is a 28 day reaction period and since he falls in that, here we are. Nothing we can do but give him Benadryl and keeping him as clean as we can. The picture below doesn't do justice to what he looks like. I just snapped a small section to keep for future records when he has shots, if this was to happen again.

Kent

Happy birthday to a very special kid in my life, Kent Samuel Lewis.

Words can't describe how much I love this kid. He is kind, fun, loving, energetic, always willing to help with Brody, can remember the most random things, smart and is totally one of my favorite people ever. I love him so much. I hope you have a great birthday Kent and I can't wait to celebrate you!

Reception

Over the weekend, I got the honor to be able to attend my cousin Taryn and her husband Jimmy's wedding reception.

See Taryn and Jimmy had a destination wedding in Belize back in May so only her closest family members were able to attend. But she told me that come fall, her and Jimmy had decided to have a reception for those who weren't able to attend.

You have to know something. Taryn and I aren't blood related cousins. Our parents aren't siblings. But we are cousins in every other aspect of the word. Almost like sisters. I've known Taryn since I was born (she is 3 weeks older). Our parents have been friends since high school. We both have older sisters (who are also 3 weeks apart). The Kesterson's are a huge part of my life and I thank God they are. They are loud, funny and say what's on their minds.

It was fun getting us all back together. We decided to leave Brody with Debbie since it was an open bar and we knew we would be out late. Kara left Hayden with her Debbie but did bring Landry.

Landry loved being the only one! She got to dance with Pop and Mimi and she also danced with B and I!

I didn't get to catch up with Taryn as much as I would like (she had a bunch of people to chat with) but she lives here now so we have plans for lunch!
Congrats Taryn and Jimmy. I hope Jimmy knows what a loud, crazy but fun loving family he has entered. And I hope he knows that when he gets the Kestersons', he gets the Clemens' too! I love that y'all live here now. And I love you both!

Queen B

Last night was The VMA's and boy was it good! Everyone looked incredible, nothing was over the top and I didn't find myself fast forwarding through any performances.

Favorite outfits of the night...honestly....has to go to Beyonce and Kim K on her makeup. She looked beautiful! So natural (ok...well as natural as she can look) but her makeup was killer.

But y'all...I am having a case of the Monday's, so I am just going to leave a link to Beyonce's performance in case you didn't see it.

Because you all need to see it. You all need to see what talent looks like.
