Screw that Pretty Pretty Princess game....I wanted to be the Queen of the castle anyways!!!

Dear Diary,

I am sure you have heard because who hasn't heard of what Kim Kardashian did recently for a magazine cover. I myself like Kim. I find nothing wrong with her. I don't understand why she is famous....she has no talent but I guess in todays society it doesn't really matter. I find her to be extremely beautiful and she seriously does seem like a really nice person. When I first saw the magazine cover, I was at home skimming through Instagram and came across it on her page. I wasn't sure what to think. And I wasn't sure what to believe. Nothing in the magazine world is ever real, there's more Photoshop than anything now a days. But that's not the point. I don't have children. But I do have nieces and I refuse to let them want to be that. I am not sure why she was not banned from Instagram for showing that. People show way less and get kicked off. And then a few days later, I heard she went full frontal for the same magazine. I mean....isn't that like porn? Shouldn't that be on a site that you must be 18 years or older to go to or a magazine that comes in the mail with a sealed cover on it....like Playboy? I refuse to show the 2 pictures I am talking about. I am not helping her "break the internet"! Why would you want to go down as being the girl with the butt? Why would you not want to go down as being the girl who invented this awesome device that saves people all over the world? Or the girl who gave her money to the needy? Or the girl who started her own animal shelter and saved thousands of animals from getting hurt and slaughtered?

If I do have a daughter some day, I want her growing up with that in mind. Not, you go make a porno with some ugly dude and then have it "accidently" get leaked for the world to see, to make you into this robot that men fawn over for a few years. Oh and when that stops, lets find the most controversial person for you to marry and give you a child who you name something extremely weird for it all to go away some day in the future and you go down as the girl with the butt. I understand embracing your body and loving who you are, but you can do that with clothes on and not your bare body for the world to see.

I recently ran across an ad which was geared towards little girls. You might remember this Super Bowl commercial, but wasn't quite sure what it was (unless you went to look it up after-wards).

Well I saw it but never looked it up or anything. I went on with life like normal. But then recently like I said I came across another ad for the same company so I went and looked them up.

They are called GoldieBlox and what it is, is little girls toys that teaches them how to become engineers. At GoldieBlox, their goal is to get girls building. In a world where men largely outnumber women in science, technology, engineering and math, girls lose interest in these subjects as early as age 8.
Construction toys develop an early interest, but for over a hundred years, they've been considered "boys" toys. GoldieBlox is determined to change that. They aim to disrupt the pink aisle and inspire the future generation of female engineers. What they believe is so important in this space are role models — characters that are cool, interesting, smart, and relatable. Hopefully, Goldie and her friends provide a vital way to see all the different things that girls can be.

I am so in love with this company. I would have been all over this as a little girl. Now, don't get me wrong. I love the pink isle at the store. In fact, pink is my favorite color. But that doesn't mean I want my daughter growing up looking like Barbie. It just means I love the color pink.

So back to the ad I saw....after I got done watching it, I knew I had to share it. I knew it made this huge statement in what girls can do and be.

Isn't that wonderful? Isn't that the message we should be sending out to girls? Being strong and independent and breaking the rules of what girls can be. We don't have to be perfect little pin-ups. We can have flaws and be original and be something in the world. Not standing on a box with your ass plastered on the cover of a magazine!

If you are interested on knowing more about GoldieBlox, please visit their website at http://www.goldieblox.com/

I do my best not to judge people. Their life choices are their life choices. I am simply trying to make this world a better place for my future children to live in. For my children to grow up and be something or at least try to be something. Not think that everything gets handed to them on a silver platter. I want the world for my un-born children, but I also want them to want the world for themselves!

How can it be sunny and 70 one day and snowing and 25 the next? Only in Texas!!!

So the weather is changing and you suddenly start to notice that scratchy feeling in the back of your throat and your nose won't stop running and then the cough comes and by the time you know it, you can't breathe, you talk funny and you feel like everyone around you is suddenly avoiding you. Well stop it before it starts.

(((I must tell you that I don't get paid by anyone to endorse their product. So when I represent something, it is truly ME representing it. I do all my own buying and marketing. (Now if someone would like to pay me, I would gladly accept. But only on products I like. I will never represent something I don't like) ))).

So back to what I was saying. Stop that cold before it starts. Stop spreading your germs around. Besides hand sanitizer, I have found the best product.

Last week, I started feeling not so good. I was getting a cough and my nose was running and I couldn't stop sneezing. So I went to CVS to try to find me something. I am allergic to NyQuil so I know the things I can't take. Plus, cough medicine makes me tired and useless and I don't have time for that. I have seen Emergen-C before but in other flavors and you drink them cold. So when I found this.....I about screamed. I made my purchase and came to work and made me one. The warm apple cider flavor is amazing. It comes with 10 packets in each box.

Let me tell what it all has in it.....

Other Ingredients: Dried Cane Syrup, Fructose, Malic Acid, Apple Juice Concentrate (color and flavor), Maltodextrin. Contains <2% of: Acacia, Caramel Color, Citric Acid, Glycine, L-Aspartic Acid, Natural Flavors, Silicon Dioxide, Stevia Leaf Extract, Sucrose, Tartaric Acid, Tocopherols (to preserve freshness).
If you are pregnant, nursing, or taking medication, consult your doctor before use.

A bit of warning when making it......add the hot water to it. Don't add it to hot water. It fizzes really bad and you must have some room in the glass for it to do it's magic.

I do not lie when I tell you I have drank one a day and I feel 98% cold-free. I have not taken any other medication. I do try to take a multi-vitamin everyday as well but I am not that good at taking it. I am stocking up on this for the next few months. It does come in other flavors and there is a whole line of Emergen-C for you to try. Blueberry-Acai, Citrus, Raspberry and Super Orange are the flavors for the Immune Plus line and Berry Medley and Apple Cider are the flavors for the Immune Plus Warmers line. They have multiple different lines, including Vitamin, Vitamin Plus, Vitamin C, Vitamin D & Calcium, Joint Health, Heart Health, and MSM. So if you aren't good at taking a vitamin everyday, this may be your solution!

Oh and it comes in a kid's version as well. Kids are the worst at getting sick and they keep spreading it around. I've seen it in Fruit Punch, Orange and Grape. This is good for those kids who hate taking a daily vitamin or can't swallow pills. For ages 4-13.

Keeping your body healthy is extremely important when it comes to cold and flu season. It amazes me the simple ways to do it. I am so glad I found this.
For more information on Emergen-C please visit their website at http://www.emergenc.com/

Now I must tell you, please only have one a day or even cut it in half and make one packet last two days. The amount of vitamins each packet has is more than the recommended amount of vitamins one needs in a day. Don't over do it. And if you don't know, always ask your doctor before you start drinking this. Just because I can, doesn't mean it won't mix well with another medication you are on. I am not a doctor, I just know what works for me. With anything you take, side effects can happen. So just make sure before you drink it.

The best part of waking up....

                    is Coffee
in your cup!

With just one word I perk up. I try to tell myself I am not addicted, but I just cant. I am not a soda drinker (except those few occasions where I just really crave a Coke Zero) but I just cant help but love coffee. And its not for the caffeine or the high. I truly love the taste of coffee. And yes, there are some mornings where I do need it, for the extra boost. But I can drink it anytime of the day. If I can remember right, I think the first time I drank coffee was when I was a teenager. I didn't start really drinking it till after I graduated high school but I always remember liking it. When Bobby and I got married, he wasn't that big on drinking coffee. But now, he loves it almost as much as me. And he's picky on what we buy. I registered for a Keurig when we got married but I just never got into it. I know it makes coffee super fast and super easy and when you are in a hurry, its wonderful. But I love the old fashion way of making coffee. My granddaddy bought me a coffee grinder last Christmas and I swear we have used that thing more than anything else in the house. Because Bobby is picky, I let him pick out the coffee beans. I swear there is a difference when you buy the beans, ground it yourself and make it in a coffee pot. Compared to buying it already grounded. It just taste so fresh. What we are loving right now is Kona Blends!

We tend to not buy flavor coffee, because we love to use coffee creamer. And some might say I have my coffee with my cream but I don't care. The 2 together is on my top 10 favorite things I consume. These are my favorite 12 I buy!

But maybe my favorite thing about coffee is the way it smells. Even if you don't like coffee, you can not tell me you don't love the way it smells when its being brewed. Or taking a handful of coffee beans and smelling it. It's so intoxicating.

Did you know that I am a collector of coffee mugs? I love them all. I seriously have too many coffee mugs for Bobby and I but I don't care. And I will keep on collecting them. Whenever I go on a trip, it tends to be the one thing I look for. And they must be dishwasher safe. I hate hand washing stuff so its a requirement!

Do you love coffee as much as me? Is there a certain way you like to drink your coffee. Would love to know how. Comment below and let me know!

Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend!!

Make it a Younique Christmas!

I am not usually one to not talk about Christmas before Thanksgiving because I love Thanksgiving and feel like it sometimes gets lost because of Christmas. But today, I am making an exception. Because Christmas is in 6 weeks and because we have 6 weeks left to shop, I wanted to remind you about how wonderful a Younique Christmas could be.

We all have that one friend. She is super hard to buy for. She buys herself everything and always has something to say. But you love her and cherish her, you just never know what to get her! Well I have the solution for you!

We all have that one family member we don't know well but your mother forces you to always buy them a Christmas gift. But what do you buy a women you see once or twice a year? Well I have the solution for you!

Younique 3D fiber lash mascara. The #1 high end selling mascara on the market right now. I can't even being to tell you how much I love this stuff. It is being made known everywhere. I don't know what I would do without it. My eyes have never looked the same. It truly is my best accessory I have. Look at the difference.

Even the celebrities are raving about it!

For a 3-4 month supply, it cost $29! You need to replace your mascara that often because of bacteria. This rule goes to any mascara you buy. But Younique's is so much different. Hypoallergenic and gluten free. It has no harsh chemicals and it safe for people who wear contacts or glasses.

I also must talk about one of the newest products to come out from Younique. It is called Uplift and it is an eye serum that can always be used all over the face. Rich in vitamins, natural skin lipids, and antioxidants, Uplift Eye Serum is formulated to replenish, moisturize, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As we age, our bodies produce lessening amounts of these vital nutrients. While we may never be able to recover these nutrients, we can supplement them. Uplift contains vitamins E and C–powerful antioxidants which help fight the effects of free radicals and long-term sun exposure. Uplift also contains Sweet Iris, which helps the skin appear firmer and more supple. Uplift is nutrition for your skin! It is this thin oily liquid that you use just a drop of under the eye and around your crows feet. And I use it at night after I have washed my face. Because it is oily, I want it to soak in over night. What I started doing about 2 weeks ago, was adding a drop or two to my moisturizer and apply it all over my face. Here's the thing about Uplift....it is $65 but it will last you (if used correctly) 6 months to a year! So you only need to buy it once or twice a year for this. And to me, that is totally worth it! It is on backorder due to high demand but we should have it back in stock on November 19th. You can still order it today and once its back in stock, they will ship out, First come first serve.

In my before photo, one eye has 3D fiber one and one does not. In my after photo, I am not wearing 3D.

And the last product I want to talk about is the new moisturizer that was just released from Younique. It is called Divine and is a supremely divine daily moisturizer that has been formulated for all skin types. This new formulation has fewer preservatives and comes in an airless pump. A few reviews I have been reading say that you must pump a few times the first time you get it. Because of the airless pump, you must work it through the tube. Most products that come in an airless pump are like that. It is $39.

What also makes a great gift are our eye pigments in 32 different colors for $12.50 each. Or our long lasting lip-liners (5 colors) and eye-liners (10 colors) which are $15 each. We also have wonderful, stay on, lip-gloss (10 colors) which are $15 each. And you can now buy the pencil sharpener for $7.50 each.

Make this Christmas easy on yourself. Head on over to www.youniqueproducts.com/DaniLynnLewis and don't forget to make me your #1 Younique girl. I am always around for any questions you might have as well. Or send this link to your husband and tell him you want everything on this blog!

Hi....My name is Dani....and I am a PINoholic

So I love Pinterest. It's a known fact. I use to not. I use to think it was a waste of time. Like it was so overwhelming it wasn't worth the time and effort. But when I was planning my sister's surprise baby shower last July (by myself I might ask with the financial help from my mom and other family members), I found myself looking through it. My mom's best friend Tria kept sending me pins and so I started looking through it. I never thought I would fall that much in love with it. I can find anything and everything. Its like Google for a crafty person! So I thought I would share some of my pins I actually mimicked.

If you would like to follow me and my boards please go to http://www.pinterest.com/danilynnlewis/

When I was hosting my friends Abby sip-n-see shower, I saw this on Pinterest.

and I loved it so much, I did it too.

For Kristen's baby shower, I really loved what I did. I found this and I could have bought it off Etsy but with my art background, it was really important for me to draw it for baby girl! So I did!

But I wanted to use Billie Maries bedroom colors. I had everyone say something to Billie instead of just writing their name. It turned out better than I could imagine. And I love that she has something in her room that I drew for her. Means a lot to me as an aunt.

Another one we did for Kristen's shower was where we took Hershey bars and colored in the SHE part. If you are having a boy, you can color in the HE part with blue instead.

You can see in the bottom left corner our Hershey bars. I couldn't find a picture of just them, but there is proof we did it.

And it's getting to be close to Thanksgiving. I love this next thing. And it is so easy and simple to make. What you do is buy a really cheap white candle. With no scent. And then you take cinnamon sticks and string and wrap it around the candle. When you light the candle, your house will smell like cinnamon. And it also makes for a wonderful center piece. Just make sure you put it on a small plate to catch the wax. And keep the string closer to the middle so it doesn't catch on fire. If you are having a hard time keeping the cinnamon in the position to tie them, you can use a little Elmers glue to hold them in place on the candle while you tie it.

I find this to be so clever and cute. You take a vase of any size, some popcorn kernels, a white candle, tie a pretty leaf to it and your done! They seem to have a place card between the popcorn kernels and the candle. You can easily do that with cardboard. Make it just small enough so you don't see it but still gives the candle some stability.

I just love being able to go to Pinterest and find the neatest, most cleaver ways to decorate. I don't cook much but I do love that there are so many Gluten Free recipes out there. Some day I will try them. Some day I will make myself cook. But for now, I just pin and hope it inspires me.

You can really tell a lot by what a person pins!
What do your pins say about you?
