Let's catch up on our Scripture today for Lent:
For Saturday's Lent Scripture: John 2, verses 14-17, Cleansing the Temple part 1(ESV)-14 In the temple he found those were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. 15 And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16 And he told those who sold the pigeons, "Take these things away; do not make my Father's house a house of trade." 17 His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will consume me."
For Sunday's Lent Scripture: John 3, verses 19-21 (ESV)- 19 "And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."
For Monday's Lent Scripture: Luke 2, verses 46-52, Jesus in the Temple (ESV)- 46 After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48 And when his parents saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress." 49 And he said to them, "Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?" 50 And they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them. 51 And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in statue and in favor with God and man.
For Tuesday's Lent Scripture: Luke 4, verses 14-15- The Beginning of Jesus' Ministry in Galilee (ESV)- 14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a report about him went out through all the surrounding country. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
For Today's Lent Scripture: ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCRIPTURES! John 3, verses 16-18 (ESV)- 16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."
