Two years ago today, I found out I was having a boy. We got the results from the doctor and we drove to Sprinkles Cupcakes and had them spell out either boy or girl for us. It was such a wonderful day. I still can remember the feeling of learning it was a boy.

I always had this feeling I would have a boy and when I got pregnant and we first saw the sonogram, my heart sang boy. Couldn't explain it but it did. I was afraid I was going to be disappointed if I found out it was a girl. I remember thinking that and hating myself for that because I would love her just the same. When we opened the box and it read boy, I couldn't stop smiling. My boy. And boy is he mine. Thank you God for small reminders of how you have blessed me. For reminding me that my life is in your hands and you have my whole story played out. Thank you knowing things I may not know I need and giving me the most wonderful blued eyed child!

      Five on Friday- Breakfast Edition

      one. Cinnamon Pebbles
So in the world of cereals, there is a lot. And I have a lot of favorites. So with that said, Cinnamon Pebbles has now gone into my top 5 favorite cereals of all time! I am not kidding. These are so good. I can't wait to make them in Rice Krispy treats!

      two. Dunkin' Donuts Pop-Tarts
Frosted Chocolate Mocha and Frosted Vanilla Latte are the flavors. I was more partial to the Mocha but Bobby liked the Vanilla one better. I guess it just depends on what you like better. I won't be buying these again to be honest but it was fun to try.

      three. Girl Scout Cereal
Thin Mints and Caramel Crunch (Samoas) are the flavors. I LOVED the thin mints one. Taste just like them without milk. In the milk it was still delicious, the mint flavor just went away some. And it was just the opposite for the Caramel ones. Tasted better in the milk. Both are worth trying, especially if you are a Girl Scout fan.

      four. Cinnamon Frosted Flakes
These have a different cinnamon taste compared to the Pebbles. These are more of a true cinnamon flavor compared to a cinnamon sugar flavor. They are very good and make the milk yummy!

      five. Charlie Hunnam
OK....so this isn't breakfast but he sure is yummy! Bobby showed me this new trailer (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) the other night and I am so excited. I love me some Jax Teller....well OK.....Charlie Hunnam, same difference!

      Granddaddy

Happy Birthday to my amazing Granddaddy! Today he turns 80!

I just love my Granddaddy. I always have felt like I was his girl. I've always had an incredible relationship with him and I thank God for that. He was always at my softball games, he was always at the football games to watch me perform at half time, he was always at church on Sunday's, walking down the isle, taking collections. He hates the spotlight and never ask for much. What I love most now that I am grown-up, is the love he has for Brody and the love Brody has for him. Brody is drawn to him. Whenever we go over there, he follows my Granddaddy around.

Happy 80th birthday Granddaddy. I love you to no end and will always be "your girl"!

      Aqua Tots (take one)

Today we had our first swim lesson. To say it was easy or that Brody listened well, I just won't because none of that happened.

Brody is super independent and likes to do things on his own so he doesn't understand that in water, it isn't the same. That 30 minute class felt like forever. Luckily, Aqua Tots allows your first class to be an evaluation class so if they don't like it, you aren't out any money. Which I am so thankful for. I don't have any photos from the actual class since I was in the water with him but I was able to snap a few before we went in. That baby speedo just kills me!

Bobby and I have decided that we are going to wait a few more months, like April to join. Give Brody a few more months of growing and understanding. I think once he understands his boundaries, it will be better. He is still just too young right now and him and I were both worn out from fighting each other.

      Bull-Bull

10! That's how old my Frenchie turned yesterday. I can't believe he is 10! I remember the day we drove so far to get him. We drove almost to Kansas for him. About 6 and half hours one way.

He is the most perfect dog for us. He's funny, sweet and extremely loyal. He loves food and sleeping. He's a snorer and licks his feet and those are his only bad qualities. He is Brody's best friend and really lets Brody do almost anything he wants to him. He is a snugger and likes to be warm. He hates the cold and the rain. I can tell he is getting old, which makes me sad. It's the little things. But he still has so much spunk, so much life and pray I get to keep him for so many more years!

I love you Bullet! Happy 10th birthday!

      Five on Friday

      one. Sunglasses
This kid of mine has started a love of sunglasses. Every night, after bath, while I am getting him in his pj's, he lays on his changing table and puts these sunglasses on, like a boss. I put lotion on him, dress him and then hand him over to his dad, all while the glasses are on. Bobby then takes them off when he turns out the light. I don't have my phone with me when I do this, so I had him model them for you during the day. Such a stud!

I am so in love with this new Latte by Starbucks. It is delicious. Inside each coffee cherry are the seeds we call coffee beans. Cascara is the dried fruit of the cherry itself. It has subtle notes of dark brown sugar and maple. If you haven't had one yet, you should try it. I do get mine with a Splenda (I like my coffee sweeter) but you should try it by itself before you add anything to it.

So I am a big fan of Quest but I have something I love even more when it comes to protein. They are by Optimum Nutrition and they are called Cake Bites. I kid you not when I say they taste like cake balls. Like icing meets cake meets icing. They come in 3 flavors, Birthday Cake, Red Velvet and Chocolate Dipped Cherry and seriously taste delicious. I've tried the birthday cake and red velvet and both are amazing. There is 3 cake bites to each bag and they are 230-250 calories, 4 to 5 grams of sugar, and 20 grams of protein.

      four. Our new President
Well it's official. Trump is finally our President. Good luck for the next four years. I would love for you to prove everyone wrong and be great and make America great again. BTW: the new first lady is beautiful and her outfit (Ralph Lauren) reminded me of something Jackie O would have worn.

      five. Ivanka Trump
Forget her step mom.....that girl KILLED it today. Her beautiful white Oscar de la Renta pantsuit, I couldn't stop staring at her. She by far got the looks in her family.

      Pudge

      Dear Diary,

Growing up, I played softball. I played it for many years. And for those years, I was a catcher. It was my favorite position and I was very good at it. I played up until my 8th grade year and there isn't a time that I don't think I wish I had kept playing.

But that's not the point of today's blog. There is a man I admired as a catcher. There is a man I would beg my dad to take me to see at games. He was my favorite player and he happened to play for the Texas Rangers.

His name is Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez. And today he got inducted into the Hall of Fame.

When I read that this morning, tears came to my eyes. A man I watched throughout almost his whole career, a man I looked up to in sports, a man that always had his head in the game, finally get the recognition he deserves.
OK sure there was the steroid issue but whatever.

I am so excited for him. I know he will never see this but I just want to say Congrats to well a deserved man, the greatest catcher in MLB history. I mean the man is a 14 time- All Star, 13 time- Gold Glove winner, appeared in more games (2,427) as a catcher, with more hits, doubles, runs, and total bases than any other catcher....but who's counting.

      New Spring Shows

There are a few shows coming up this Spring that I am so excited about and thought I would share.

      Thursday, February 2nd
      Powerless- NBC, 7:30pm central
"Yes, it's yet another DC Comics series, but unlike the other superhero shows clogging the networks, this one is a sitcom. Vanessa Hudgens stars as an insurance adjuster who helps protect people against the unintended damage caused by crime-fighting superheroes (mostly of the fringe variety, though a major DC character could theoretically appear from time to time). The workplace comedy also stars Danny Pudi, Ron Funches, and Christina Kirk."

      Friday, February 3rd
      Santa Clarita Diet- Netflix
"New Netflix comedy series from Victor Fresco (Better Off Ted, Andy Richter Controls the Universe) stars Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant as suburban married realtors who experience a change that sends "both their lives down a road of death and destruction ... but in a good way." Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) directs. If his presence seems odd, note that the series has a major horror twist that Netflix didn't reveal until a few weeks ago—and which we'll leave for you to discover in the first episode."

      Sunday, February 19th
Big Little Lies- HBO, 8pm central
"David E. Kelley's seven-episode adaptation of Liane Moriarty's book stars Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgard, Laura Dern, Adam Scott, and Zoe Kravitz. Jean-Marc Vallée (Dallas Buyers ClubWild) directs every episode."

      Thursday, February 23rd
The Blacklist: Redemption- NBC, 9pm central
"This spinoff from hit drama The Blacklist was introduced in a May episode that found Ryan Eggold's Tom Keen joining up with Famke Janssen's (TakenX-Men) Scottie Hargrave, who runs the covert mercenary organization Grey Matters. Edi Gathegi (who plays Matias Solomon) also moves over from The Blacklist to the spinoff, while Unforgettable's Tawny Cypress joins Redemption as a regular. Terry O’Quinn (Lost) will recur."

      Sunday, March 5th
      Chicago Justice- NBC, 8pm central
"NBC will leave no aspect of Chicago unturned. Dick Wolf's empire expands to a fourth series, this one centering on state prosecutors that is based on a backdoor pilot which aired last season as an episode of Chicago P.D. Philip Winchester (Strike Back) stars alongside Carl Weathers, Joelle Carter (Justified), and Jon Seda (moving on from Chicago P.D.)."

Feud: Bette and Joan- FX, 9pm central
"It's yet another Ryan Murphy anthology series. This one, as the title suggests, will examine famous feuds in history, beginning with the rivalry between Hollywood stars Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) beginning during the filming of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?. Like every Murphy series, the cast is excellent. Also starring are Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis, Alfred Molina, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, and Kiernan Shipka."

      Wednesday, April 26th
      The Handmaids Tale- HULU
"Ten-episode Hulu original series is based on the acclaimed Margaret Atwood novel of the same name that's set in a dystopian near future where a fundamentalist dictatorship called Gilead has replaced the United States. Elisabeth Moss heads a cast that also features Yvonne Strahovski, Joseph Fiennes, Samira Wiley, Max Minghella, Alexis Bledel, and Ann Dowd."

      Stranger Things, Season 2
So I have no idea when this is coming to Netflix but I want it to come quick!!!!! I can't wait for the second season.

      iPhone 7 pictures

Over the Christmas holiday, I upgraded my phone to the iPhone 7 plus. I had been hearing a lot of things about the camera and couldn't wait to try it out. On the iPhone 7, the feature you go to that activates both cameras is the Portrait mode. It makes the background blurry, while enhancing the object you are focusing on. I played around some with Brody a few different days and thought I would share them. It is by far my favorite new feature on the iPhone 7.

My child has mastered the duck face so a lot of him are with that face but I was able to capture real moments of him. If you know my kid, then this is him below. None of these pictures have been altered in any way. These are the raw form.
       Shirt is Emerald Sky

       Hoodie is Purl Lamb

If you are thinking about upgrading, do it. I did the payment plan through Apple so I get the protection plan and I have the chance for an upgrade each year, guaranteed every two years. I got the iPhone 7 Plus is Rose Gold, 128GB and I believe it is around $44 a month with taxes. That does include your carrier plan, that is just for the phone alone. Your carrier plan is separate through your wireless provider.
